We travel from Finland to Sweden to play the Scandinavian Invitational at the Kings course at Kungsängen Golf Club.
Kungsängen Golf Club is located a few miles north of Stockholm. The shorter Queens course opened in 1991, and the longer tournament Kings course opened in 1993. The Kings course is designed by Anders Forsbrand, and the course has hosted the Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour several times.

I must tell you of when I saw Anders Forsbrand doing a clinic at Karlstad GK with the club trainer Henri Reis, coach to Annika Sorenstam. After showing off some fades, draws etc, the audience could ask for shots. Some said The longest you can hit and he hit one up in the forest. A little boy shouted The shortest! Laughter all around, but Anders pulled out his driver and put the ball on a peg. Complete silence... A full swing a little ‘ping’ when he just touched the ball and it fell off the peg. A full swing for a half inch drive. I have never seen such control. Still impressed ca 25 years later.

Oh boy. Narrow, tree-lined fairways. I can’t wait.

I have also had the pleasure to witness a fellow member of my real society hit the ball 1 inch with a driver(shortest drive I have witnessed, I remember as it was at Harleyford 18th hole), when I say pleasure it means enjoying a gin and tonic in the clubhouse. Society rule number 24 if your ball doesn't reach the ladies tee on ANY hole you buy your 3 playing partners a G and T on the 19th hole

Nice score Art! Had bad tempo first ruound and that doesnt match well with bad putting. Almost got it back to even par in the second round but just not hitting fairway on the holes where the course gives scoring chances. Waterball on 7 as well. The course is pretty tricky, lots of tricky breaks around the pins and pretty small areas to hit it into on the greens.

First Round complete at the Scandinavian Invitational. I missed two birdie putts within 5ft. I tried not to blow them past the hole and got the yips and hit them too soft.

(And anything else that has to do with bad putting,) You’re getting a lot more rounds with minus signs in front of your number, Wade. Well done! Hopefully I will join you soon enough. Maybe even get our old rivalry with Art going again. But I still have a lot of work to do. 🏌️⛳️

First round in with -5. Teed off with mcbogga . Tempo was off with a lot of slow swings, but my putter saved me again and again. mcbogga also had some trouble finding the fairway and really had a bunch of putts that missed by an inch or 2.

I decided to finish up at the Scandinavia Invitational (surprise). Round 3 I hung around even par thanks to a Double Bogey on #3. I finished R3 at -1. Round 4 conditions were brutal! I had it to -6 until a couple of Double Bogeys on #3 and #12. I was scratching and clawing to stay under par. I finished up +4 for the round and -1 for the tournament. This course played extremely tough.

First Round pairing with Art. He had that southpaw putter working for him. Struck the ball much better and decent tempo for this round. Mental mistake on the first hole, rushed the read and missed the 5 footer for par. Partial driver up the left side of fairway rolled on and almost went in for an albatross. Tapped in for eagle. Went on a really good run after that. Came to par 3 13th and aimed left of the pin which would've been middle of the green. But as the ball faded away from my target and heard the crowds reaction, knew it was in the drink. Put together some good holes on 14-17. Got too aggressive on the downhill birdie putt and missed the comebacker on the last. Aside from those mental mistakes, could've been a really low score.

Rd1 last night after knocking over CC and TST. Not many fairways but got it to -5. Tonight; Rd2 at -7. Some close approaches and a chip in or 2. Rd3 in low winds +1. Nothing dropped and struggled to hit it close. Rd4 in VH wind (bit like home today) -2. Up and down but had 2 chip ins and a couple of close pitches. Read the pace of the greens a little better as well. -13 total. Cheers and good luck all.

Round 1 just after a round of 68 at Chicago Golf Club, feeling good with a new driver. It started as you guessed, hitting it all over the place and 5 over after the front 9. At the 12th something new happened, I entered THE ZONE. Went -4 the last 7. The only miss was the straight 10 ft putt for eagle at 14th. How many times do you get at straight 10 ft putt for eagle? Or even a straight 10 ft putt at all? And I came up 2 ft short... One ahead of mcbogga .
