I guess very high winds don't come out when there is plenty of water on the course . Not supposed to be fun just one of those days when you get your head down and grind out a score. The 4th round scores do highlight how good leon and Tuffgut's 4th rounds were. You'll be happy to know that I picked the conditions for Norway which are very good scoring conditions for all four days. If I see winds like that again in any event I will play a practice round first to get a feel for it. We don't play the conditions like that very often and I wish I had done just that. You are absolutely right Paul, you just need to knuckle down and play for par on every hole, knowing there will be a few dropped shots. I was pretty frustrated after my fourth round and I apologise if my earlier post upset those that do a great job of setting the events up, it is the same for everyone, and in a strange way I think I would actually quite enjoy the challenge of those conditions in the future! That’s it we don't play extreme conditions very often but it actually is more fair than real life as we all get the same conditions. In tournament golf it is not so much about how low you score but how you play compared to everyone else. I agree nothing more frustrating than a bad round to undo the good rounds Simon. We actually have 6 admin now taking turns setting up each week. That's the variety I have always wanted here. Some pick the real conditions at the time others like myself this week pick our own custom conditions for the week. The Norwegian Cup will have low winds in round 1 and 2 with rain over the weekend softening up the course with medium winds for the weekend. Should be some good scoring conditions in Norway 😁

Also nothing wrong with a rant or two, I like that shows a bit of passion and that you care about how well you do in a tournament.

Welcome back booze . -30 is some fantastic shooting! 🍺 Thanks! I was horrified at the shots that I normally splash all day on, but luckily it only came up maybe 5 or 6 times. My first attempt at a partial pitch landed about 10 yards short of the green lol. After that I figured I’d better try my best to avoid those yardages, but kept forgetting of course. I hit a few shots ive never attempted, like a 9 iron chip out of heavy rough...somehow put it within 5 feet! It’s fun as it’s something totally different...even though it’s very scary lol. I was finally able to nail one 15 yard pitch because it was too steep to chip, which felt pretty good. Definitely requires more strategy to play, as something like slamming the driver off the deck like I do alot normally isn’t always smart when I don’t have the splash bail out if it fails.

1 bogey in 4 rounds... And that came in a storm. I have no words for that. *kneeling to the master*

Played a good first round, -1. Lots of good approach shots and birdies (7 if I remember correctly), but I'm still making too many mistakes... First hole I sliced my drive behind some trees and then found the water after pulling my approach, what was supposed to be another wicked intentional slow-slice lol. Not a way to start your tournament. Second round was very similar as the first. Lot of birdies (6 or 7), just less bogeys this time so I finished with a nice -3. On my third round I was on fire (for a while at least). Got a nice hot streak on the front nine, chipped in for an eagle at driveable par 4 6th, chipped in for a birdie at the very next hole, also birdied 8th. Back nine everything fell apart, my tempo suddenly was way off with full shots and the putting yips hit me big time. Got a couple of double bogeys and bogeys and I finished my round with a dissapointing 73 (at least after what seemed to be my best round). Fourth round was just a crazy struggle, fought as best as I could but still lost my shots somewhere... I managed to birdie the 17th to get my score under par in the tournament, but I still had the 18th.. A great drive and second shot later I had a ~50m pitch shot left. A terrible pitch ended up to a lower tier right of the flag. I then overread the right-to-left break on my next uphill putt, which left me a scary 1m downhill left-to-righter. Made a decent putt that somehow dropped in to save my par, and just leaving me under par for this week. We've been meaning to have a "boys golf trip" to Stockholm from across the pond for a while now, but still haven't had the perfect chance for everybody to go. Bro Hof and Kevinge were on the list, but I'll definitely have to add Kungsängen to the list now that I'm familiar with it. I live next to Kevinge. It has historical significance for Swedish golf, but as a course it’s nothing special anymore since they had to chop up the original layout. Some great holes! Kings is a pretty OK course except for some of those Scandinavian speciality up a hill holes that are just boring. Condition is so so however, another world compared to Bro Hof and Kevinge.

Thanks for the tips, didn't know the layout was changed from the original. The historical aspect was (and still is) the real reason we'd like to see it, I understood there's some sort of friendship agreement between them and Helsinki GK. There's also an annual clubmatch between the clubs (ongoing since 1935!), host switches every year. Haven't participated, but I've heard some wild stories about the trips.
Bro Hof is a must... might reconsider Kingsängen then if the condition isn't that good..
edit: I messed up the quote field and can't get it to work

I’m just spoilt from quite a few years playing Japanese and high level Chinese courses....

Scandinavian Invitational final leaderboard booze2407 wins by an impressive 10 strokes on 30 under, stoneysooner finishes 2nd on 20 under. PaKaLoLo 77 and Tuffguts tie for 3rd on 13 under. Low round of the week is a superb 60 in round 3 from this weeks champion Shot of the week this classy pitch from SirWade.
