The ultra sim experience tour travels this week to Chicago, Illinois to play the Macdonald Invitational at the Chicago Golf Club. The golf course is located in a suburb west of Chicago that is called Wheaton. It is one the oldest golf clubs in North America and was founded in 1892, but moved to it's present location in 1894. The club was one of five founding clubs of the USGA. The course is a classic Macdonald design - futher reading on the architechture can be found on TGC tours forum in this thread: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/18295/template-hole-golf-golden-architectureThe course has hosted the US Open in 1897, 1900 and 1911. The course is private, and is considered to be one of the most exclusive clubs. Only 120 members, and that number will not change. The only way to play is by invitation. That makes this course very little played in real life. "In short, getting a chance to play Chicago Golf Club may be as likely as getting struck by lightning." Weather forecast: Wind speed: low, medium, medium, low Wind direction: default, west, northwest, east

SCARY!!! Started +1 and -2. Didn't help when majority of approaches are in between clubs. It can really punish you if you are a few yards short or long.....or left or right for that matter. Hold tight on the front 9 as there are birdie opportunities on the back 9.....if you can handle the greens. It's one of those courses where a green map would be handy. Got part way through Rd 3 and shut it down after 3 putting from 5 feet...Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Oooh, looks like we have another tricky week! I really enjoyed the challenge of last week, so I'm happy to see it 👏
Tuff guts "only" shooting -6 does strike the fear into me though! Hopefully won't cross the line into not fun.

Night and day, gents. Night. and. day.
Today was a good day. I paired with Tuffguts and somehow managed to stay right with him!
But what he said about the greens, he was not kidding! 14 and 15 I thought were particularly tough, and I just flat out missed an easy one on 18.
The others, I think I stole his luck, by playing with him.

Love the course, I’m a big big fan of old designs and classics like this, however....
About 13 illegal pins in rd1 spoiled it a bit, the Greenkeeper needs sacking.

Wow, andersnm you put on a show in Round 2, sir. If not for a bit of bad luck on a few holes you would have tore this place up! I particularly thought your birdie on 10 and the chip in bird on 11 were beautiful shots.
As for me, it was either hit the hole or miss it and watch the ball roll forever on the front. Settled down a bit on the back nine, for a score I can certainly live with and I think be proud of on this course!
