Tee'd off in the first round with andersnm and polekatt/josia .I didn't actually think the pins were that bad in round 1 even thought I 5 putted 3 and 3 putted 4 both from 10 foot so was 6 over after 4 holes. You just absolutely can't attack them with the putter as there are slopes very close, defensive putting is needed. I did manage to leave myself an impossible 1 ft downhill putt from 18 foot on 14 where I tapped it extremely to my right as soft as I could but it still went 12 foot past and managed to hole the return putt. The first 4 holes I just had a meltdown with the putter, just needed to compose myself and am happy with 3 birdies and just the 1 bogie in the next 14 holes and a good back 9 recovery. Great play by polekatt/josia with a fantastic front 9. "Defensive putting." Concept is obvious, not heard it phrased that way, like it 👍 Nice back 9 mate.

It's all about hitting them much softer with more borrow. I do think this course would be ripped apart by the big guns with easier pins tbh. Not that challenging tee to geen. When the greens are unplayable I will moan. Like the course BTW.

Round 2 with Anders who played really well, good match. Couldn't match his 64 but hit a 67. It didn't save the scorecard for some reason. But a tight PC leaderboard.

I knocked out Round 3 last night. Didn't have a ton of time, so I went out by myself. Shot +4. Two, maybe three holes, I got in trouble with the approach and the greens got me, but other than that hit the ball fairly well

Had a lot of luck in R2. Most of it good but a few unlucky ones as well. -4 for the round, -2 at the halfway mark. I’m -5 on the front 9, +3 on the back.

-2 third round. -4 for the event. I don’t like huge elevation changes, but jeez this course is flat apart from around the greens. Reminds me of a course I had to play each year in Pennant when I played, Pakenham, pronounced pakennam. We always referred to it as going to ‘Nam’ to play lol. Big old upside down bowl greens that rolled off in every direction...
Got a trip back to my home state planned when the lockdown ends. Will be driving over with the Misso and 2 dogs. Just a lazy 3600km’s lol. Got a round booked with 3 mates. One a former pro off about +5, one a multiple club champion off scratch V me and my mate off 7. The condition is they get a (crappy, provided by me) 7i between them. Will be sure to get some video of it, hoping it’ll happen around August. 👍
Good to have stuff to look forward to. Look after yourselves fellow USE peeps.

I wonder whether this course is really this flat IRL, I might have a look round and see if anyone has done a LiDAR version for next season, failing that I could always see if there’s data for it

However, it is a classic course, so if you create a LiDAR that's playable, I'm sure it would be back in contention.

4 ball in round 3 with the rest of the PC leaderboard. Pretty steady stuff and haven't had a 3 putt since hole 4 in round 1 where I changed my putting strategy. I actually really like the greens on this course, I watch every fly by to see the safe place to land the ball. This is a course that you would take a practice round and jot down the pin placements and greens for each round, a really nice course that doesn't deserve it's criticism imo. Greens not unfair you just can't putt aggressively which I really like, a putting challenge but a fair one. Got down in 2 from some monster putts, didn't really hole anything long and both bogeys resulted from poor recovery shots.

I did not see any pin that did roll away inside a 5 feet circle, and that is okay for me. They where however too penal for my liking (good shots where penalized too much for me if you missed by a small margin). And then I am not thinking of putting itself, but the approach shots. There is a long time since I had that many putts from 60-80 feet (also on good approach shots). I truly like the course otherwise.

Finished round 2 and it is a tight leaderboard indeed. A second consecutive +1 thanks to a chirp to start and to finish.
