No offense meant here. Your Society, Your Rules. I just don't understand the handicapping. I thought the whole point of playing legendary was to make the game more difficult because Master was too easy. But you defeat that purpose by implementing a handicap? Where is the actual golf score list? The handicap leaderboard is something that Charles and Quade (Skunky) wanted to bring in to make it competitive for every member. Legend doesn't all of a sudden become easy because of a handicap system, you have to play above your level to win tournaments still. The societies here are about sim golf, so it is certainly defeating the object. My real life society doesn't become easier on the golf course because we play our tournaments with stroke play and stableford handicap system, we have 40 odd people that can all win on a given day. If you want to check out the scratch PS and Xbox leaderboards for TAN they are in the XBox-PS scores thread. Also look out for future strokeplay 2 member team competitions and this will be based on a scratch score, teams will be split up evenly so we can have a competitive event.

Where is the actual golf score list? I see they’ve just added a scratch weekly 2 round tour which will hopefully create the best of both worlds because that was a concern to me too. That's correct and precisely why I have started up The Legend Tour. That tour is the step up from USE Cross Platform to legend swing difficulty. It is good to have 2 societies, the difference is TAN is going to follow the real PGA/DP World Tour and LIV schedule. TLT will be curated courses and quite challenging set ups. As you say best of both worlds.👍

TAN-38
De links at Gwynloch Cliffs proved to be a tough challenge as only 6 players were able to break net par. But regardless of that, most of the field managed pretty well to get close to their own net par. We greet a new first time winner in Zooby97 who crashed the party with a scorching 65 to play above and beyond. Congratulations! Heads are spinning! FdParis also beat his handicap to bring it in with an impressive 68 to claim second place on his own. Third place was shared by InfamousEddieC and A. Vandelay who carded strong 69's. SEASON 2024 TAN UPDATE The prep for the 2024 season is in full swing right now as we are starting to put 'The Puzzle' together on a calendar spreadsheet. Here a peek at what TAN 2024 is going to look like. The season will have 55 tournaments (max in 2K23) and will run from the 1st of February to the 1st of september. This schedule has been chosen to coincide (and stretch) the TAN schedule so as to have a full season covering the most important tournament months of the tours. It will have 5 majors including a TAN Championship and 5 'specials'. The rest will be regulars. The TAN schedule will coincide with the majors and 'specials' date. (Specials are invitationals like The Genesis or The Players championship.) The courses used will be the ones used in real life (if availabe and good enough, otherwise suitable alternatives will be used). For the regulars there will be an interesting mix of DP World, PGA, LIV venues and other 2K23 courses (real and fictional). All will be set up as realistically as possible without going overboard on firmness a/o speed, just like we have done in the 2023 start-up season. The majors will be scheduled for a full week (monday/sunday) coinciding with the real dates and played over 4 rounds. The Specials will also be scheduled at the same time as tightly to the real dates as possible and will be played over 2 rounds in 4 days. The regulars will remain a 1 round tournament, only stretched to 3 days so as to allow admin some more breathing room regulating things etc. Some days have been built-in the schedule to that effect too. TAN 2024 will introduce a points-reward system for 1st to 30th+ place (and ties] for every tournament on the cross-play leaderboard with three separate points rewards depending on the type of tournament (i.e. major, special, regular) whereby the most points will be given respectively to the majors (1st place [and ties] 5000 points and down), then the specials (1st place and ties] 2000 points and down) and least for the regulars (1st place [and ties] 1000 points and down). TAN Champion will be the player with the most points at the end of the season. All scores are net based on the TAN handicap system. After every tournament a crossplay leaderboard will be dispayed with the net scores as is already the case now and will have the added points reward mentioned. A separate points seasonleaderboard will also be kept ofcourse. Anybody can join who has a TAN handicap (received after playing 4 TAN rounds) and new members joining TAN during the season will be allowed to play, albeit net scoring will only start after having a TAN handicap. More the reason to have a TAN handicap before the start of the season. A new thread will be created on the USE forum for the 2024 season in due time for the crossplay tournament leaderboard & write up and related comments, plus a specific thread for the 2024 season accumulated points leaderboard. TBC.

TAN-40
TAN-40 @ Oberhofen East-North again saw a large field tee it up with no less then 26 players from all over the world taking a shot at the chance of a TAN crown. The course was well worth it as this stellar design proved a good and fair challenge for all players. Today we greet two new first time TAN winners in HarveyDog500 and... Skunky! , who went around scoring a stellar net 63. Congratulations guys! Edged out by just one shot to claim third place on his own, is 'old' TAN warrior Mr Longpolex, who not only carded a beautiful 64 but also was able to equal the LOWEST gross score in TAN history with a outstanding 60! He joins Horusphoenix to share this impressive record. Great playing Longpole! And finally we also greet three new members to the ever growing TAN crew with Charlie Mattax, BigJawJugrnau2 and DababbitBabbit. Welcome gents and play well. Soon you will join the net leaderboard as full blown TAN players. Remember, the 2023 TAN handicap registration will be the benchmark for the start of the 2024 season starting on feb.1st. TAN-41!Some excellent scoring was to be seen on the beautiful Helsinki course, but nobody was prepared for what happend with WeltyBeast, who smashed the TAN recordbooks for the lowest round ever in TAN bringing it in with a flash and carding an almost unbelievable.. 53 net! He did have a push downward of 4 strokes but even so, with an also record breaking gross score of 57 , he was able to improve the lowest round ever noted in TAN by three shots, taking over the lead set by Horusphoenix (60). This is truly an amazing feat at the elite bare knuckle level and one wonders what happend to WeltyBeast to make this happen. The Zone must have been all-encompassing over him before he woke up and realised what he had done ! Maybe he's still in shock!? Whatever happend, this is surely a very special magic moment and so we congratulate WeltyBeast with this fantastic achievement which will probably stand for a long time... Second place was shared between AsYouDo64 and Pen Knight who closed with impressive 62's, scores which would normally have been a serious bid for first place! Well played gents. And yet again we greet two new players in JMG19873079 and JSTO_23. Welcome! Play 4 rounds and you will receive your TAN handicap. Net results @ Helsinki GC:

One of those rounds for me nice 31 footer than the putter went cold and missed some putts for birdie I really should of holed, but the putter went hot again so not a bad round. Feel for Charlie as he played some great stuff out there, the 18th was one of those holes for him.

Just coming back after a month off. The handicap concept isn't a bad idea but aren't we going to track gross as well as net? And someone shot a 57 getting 4 strokes? I mean congrats, but isn't there an equitable stroke control committee who should mount an investigation? And the next tournament this player was still getting a stroke?

TAN-43
A rainy Miklagard received the TAN crew for a bit of challenge as conditions were trying at times, with moisty ground putting on the brakes here and there. Nevertheless we greet second time TAN winner ZuperAwesomeDad who carded a excellent net 65 to win outright. Congratulations! WeltyBeast continues his good form clinching second place with a 66 and Mr Longpolex produced strong play also, smashing through his handicap to card a fantastic net 68! Well played all! We also greet a new member, non other than Dr_Golfdesign, to join the TAN train and right of the bat carded a strong gross 71. Well done! After 4 rounds you will receive your TAN handicap. I mean congrats, but isn't there an equitable stroke control committee who should mount an investigation? And the next tournament this player was still getting a stroke? The handicap sets in after 4 played rounds and is constantly recalibrated after 5 tournaments. Its unique to TAN and its playing level. We have waited to implement it to see how the general gross scores would develop so that we can get a good and honest insight into player strenghts. Because TAN will become a tournament set up in 2024 it will have the hcps in play to go to net scoring so as to give every player a fair chance into winning a tournament. Parallel to that TAN will have a points reward system in place for 2024. You are registered with a +3 hcp in TAN.

I mean congrats, but isn't there an equitable stroke control committee who should mount an investigation? And the next tournament this player was still getting a stroke? I will point out that WeltyBeast has a 2.7 over par average score after 22 TAN rounds played. I do believe that he has switched to a Razer controller from a stock Xbox controller (which is very unforgiving for legend swing difficulty especially on XBox). So his scores have started to get lower which is understandable. It's also possible for players with higher average scores to hit great scores now and again. Davildo who's average TAN score is 2.5 over par actually won a tournament when TAN was a scratch competition with a round of -10. Having 2 leaderboards and 2 ranking also gives Charles more work as the tournaments are close together timewise. To me TAN is different as it is like a handicapped society where anyone can win on their day. We do have The Legend Tour which has replaced USE Master Tour, this is a scratch competition and separate from TAN. Personally I enjoy both formats and it is best to separate them through different societies I feel.

That's basically what I meant by mounting an investigation. Will you guys be doing a cross platform leaderboard for the Legend Tour?
