Hi to all,
just a notice to everyone interested in getting yer feathers ruffled a bit: we (thats me and Skunky) have been thinking a while of starting a little niche for the 'extremists' out there who want to go all the way in this great game of ours. So we finally crossed the rubicon and set up a society for players who dare to go 1 step beyond!! and give it a go at the bare knuckle level: Legend!!
We are setting up a cross-platform schedule (Steam-PC/Xbox/PlayStation) with only really good & tested courses to be played at a 1 round go-around*. It is a one tournament within a 3 day schedule. We introduce a specific TAN handicap system (to be earned after 4 tournaments) so the society will have a net cross-play leaderboard. For 2024 there will be a full season of 55 tournaments starting feb.1st with regular (1 round/3 days), specials (2 rounds/4 days) and majors 4 rounds/7 days) and a schedule loosely following the PGA, DPworld and LIV tours plus added real and fictional courses. A season points reward system will be in place. 2023 is used as a start-up season to iron out working routines etc.
The playing conditions will be very realistic with the Real game in mind. So also pre-shot aids off and no grids. Ofcourse course selection is important as we want it to be as realistic as possible. The legend level will take care of the rest LOL! We have been playtesting at the legend level and it looks like PAR is going to mean a bit more then just 'average'.
For most there will be a learning curve as off-centre hits will be in play big time, especially for the long game. The short game and putting are pretty much the same as on the Master level although one will have to always be focussed. On legend level there will be a challenge in hitting good shots all the time. Scrambling and good course management will be a major factor. Again, there will be a learning curve. But par's will be 'tough as nails'.
On the up-side: your master or pro level game could very well improve even more once you get wacked around on legend!
So, everybody is welcome to give it a go. Please spread the word if you can so we can get a good field together.
