Who actually uses Pro clubs here? I still do for TST rounds, but here I use Masters. Masters here Me as well. EDIT: That said, I think XBox should be the only platform where Pro clubs are allowed in USE. PC & PS4 players should be required to use Master Clubs. I have it on good authority ("Wade's Word", sung to the tune of "Wayne's World") that PS4 is much more forgiving in tempo than XBox. Presumably so is PC, going by leaderboards and the USE rankings.

Regarding the use of the putting cam on the tee, I'm inclined to have it prohibited in USE.
I have to weigh that opinion compared to me using the high camera view on the tee. It feels to me like changing the view for the club in your hand (or the one you intend to use) is okay, but switching to the putter to get a better view than the game would otherwise allow is not. Logically, there is no real difference between "standing up" and "standing up even taller". So it's about what feels right to me given the game design.
And if the argument is made that using the putter cam workaround is okay because the game's overhead map is such a crap tool for figuring out your sight lines, then it's a short walk from there to saying the loft box is okay because there is no mechanic in the game that mimics a real-life fade or draw. No one IRL uses a slow downswing to fade the ball.
So I'm torn. What do you guys think?

The greens this week at Le Golf National were crap. I'm not the greatest putter in the world, but these greens don't roll true and the pins are put in places they just shouldn't be. Even reading them is harder than most courses, and certainly way out of step with the best RCRs in the game.

No one IRL uses a slow downswing to fade the ball. So I'm torn. What do you guys think? I can state my opinion on this matter: Regarding fade/draw - I completely agree the game do not have this total realistic. All good golfers work the ball with an inside-out or outside-in swing path with the club face square to target. It is however completely possible to grip your club open or closed and thus provide a fade and draw. Any good golfer will have to regrip the club in order to have the club hit closed or open on impact. I have argued on this issue alot with Craig over at the HB studio, and we agree on the real mechanics in real life, but they chose to have this implemented in the way it is; fade/draw is only possible with a fast/slow tempo - meaning you hit the ball with closed or open face on impact. The added distance is just bullshit unrealistic. An outside-in or inside-out swing path is in this game implemented to represent a pull or push. I am okay with the implementation, because it is damn hard to implement all the aspect of a golf swing and I think they have made the best of it compared to any other golf title I've played to date. As far as using the putting/short game cam on tee: Walking cam should be available, but is not. I have never used this method, and never will, but in real life - you do walk around to get the correct aim - or as good as you can get. To fly up in the air to get a view is unrealistic, but as long as you keep it near the ground and have a look around I'm totaly okay with using any cam for that purpose. Keep in mind that getting a correct aim in real life can also be demanding on blind/semi-blind tee shots.

Even reading them is harder than most courses, and certainly way out of step with the best RCRs in the game. There where some issues on this course, and I did not like the greens or some of the pins. I would also think some elevations where quite a bit off around some greens. Though this is the best version of Le Golf National Albatros in the game - I agree - we need a better RCR of this course.

The only reason I use Pro for TST is that at least I know I’m playing the same game as people using Pro on PS and PC. If the tempo was the same on all 3 platforms (like it is on XB so it’s actually an effort to get a perfect) we’d have a great game, but sadly it just isn’t. I choose a lack of distance over random tempo which affects accuracy. If everyone was forced to play using Pro clubs we’d see an equal distribution between the platforms on each tour rather than seeing the PGA as a mainly PS tour. Once upon a time the 50 best players on each platform were pretty much all in the top 150 - 200, right now 50th best XB guy would be around 500 in WGR while the PS guy is probably around 60. The tours could be as good as they were once if everyone would simply recognise that Pro clubs ARE a level playing field. I didn’t think anyone used Pro in here, I was asking just to find out who. Not looking to rock the boat here either - this is the only place I enjoy Masters. I think PC needs an asterisk here. Many think PC is worse than PS4 but if you have a good PC (no graphics issues) you won't get tempo issues. Sure, an average laptop will give you tempo issues from Texas to China but if you have a proper beefy gaming computer...tempo issues don't exist. I do really feel for the Xbox users. It's just a shame....if you want a reference point, Z3NZ switched from Xbox to PC just recently and his WGR has skyrocketed and might even get a PGA win this week (he has a great PC like myself).

Who actually uses Pro clubs here? I still do for TST rounds, but here I use Masters. Always always ALWAYS Masters mouse for me. Explanation is simple: I only play this game, only play on PC, and the mouse gliding feels most like a golf swing (tried 3 click way back in the day, never felt right, once the movement swing came never went back). Can't for the life of me use a game controller, my son always slayed me on the PS3 on all the game we played, so I have a preconceived attitude towards controllers. And I'm ok with that. Masters vs Pro...once you get your groove in, there is no question. Of course when your game is off, Masters will punish you but I'm just not worried with all the hours I've played I feel slumps come and go. Started this game on Masters, tried Pro a few times and did not see the benefit. Now that I've said this, I am coming back after not playing for 5 weeks and my game WILL suffer. But I WILL suffer Masters mouse cause I'm a little bit SM! Sorry about the rant, but it is good to be back in TGC and USE (and Dirtbags and NFL too). Onward!

Off-topic, but speaking of PGA this week...is there a cut in WGC event? I’m imagining no since there’s only 50 of us. If there’s not, this will be the first event that I can actually relax and have fun lol. I don’t want to go in the thread and ask, because I don’t like to see peoples scores when they post them.

Then should we also ban pin marker because that is as realistic as ball labels and also elevating the camera when on the green?. I have yet to play a course where I need a course book to find where to aim off the tee, blind tee shots on a lot of courses I've played have raised stair platforms or a huge white pole in the middle of the fairway as your target. Failing that you could always have a little walk forward to get a view of your target. PC has a camera mode that if you only use the left stick lets you move forward and doesn't elevate your view, unfortunately it's not available on consoles. I find elevated the camera as a compensation is more realistic than pin marker which I haven't used for a quite a while.

Is Xbox broken then?, if it's framerate problems surely the Xbox One X could play the game with a steady framerate. I have the game on PC and PS4 and there is no competition between the two this game plays better on PC and looks fantastic on an Ultrawide monitor. I do find you need a slower tempo on PC but it's just as hard to hit it straight on PS4.

I'm on Xbox, couldn't care less if other platforms are easier or harder. Each week in all my societies and TGCTours, I only look at Xbox and Masters clubs results. Don't want to start comparing apples to oranges to grapes.
