Didn't quite hit the same heights in round two as the putter went cold but an eagle on 16 got me to 68 and -14 at the halfway

Had a bit of a mental 1st round, birdied the first 6 and then panicked missed two short birdie putts to turn in 30 before playing really solid on the back to close out a 62 and sitting at -10 after round 1, by far the best I've ever played this game, plus I know Sawgrass very well on the game! That's a great score Paddy, well played. In high winds also ๐

Rd2 - Really solid -8. Chip ins on 8 and 18. A few nice putts but had good tempo off the tee which made it easier. Rd3 - Crap tempo on front 9....+3 I think....spraying them all over the place. Then eagled 11 (I think for the first time ever), birdie on 12 and chip in birds on 13 and 14. Birdied 16 and then had that silly lie up where it rolls off the green left and up against the retaining wall near the water. The ball looked way below your feet but when I chipped out, it went way left off the club and back into the rough....ended up with a bogey and -2 for the round. I think that part of the green fringe and rough needs some redesigning to stop the ball appearing below the level of the surface....looks like a bug. Anyway, Rd4 was more like my current USE form with the good mixed in with the bad. Not too many pars and a -2. -15 total (incl the 2 shot penalty from Rd1). paddyjk19 looks like it's his to lose after his ripper first round. Well played sir.

I thought last week I was going to beat you but it all went pear shaped! It's not over till the fat lady sings haha (or till I get it on dry land on 17 and 18)

Very disappointing finish to round 2, but not upset at the overall score.

Off to quite a good start trying to chase Tuffguts and Paddy with birdies on 1 and 4. Been just missing the driver to the right with some of my tee shots. Scrambled to save bogey on the 5th after hitting it into the water with a 17 footer. Not so lucky on the 7th. Those are the ones that add up over the week. Maybe a bit of pressure in trying to force things. Settled down and had really good tempo the rest of the way going -5 after losing those strokes. Just missed on my other birdie opps, hopefully those will start to drop in the next two rounds. -7 at the halfway mark.

Disaster start 6 over after 6 holes but managed a good fight back till a water ball right on 17, great birdie putt on 18. Next 2 rounds played well with a lot of birdies but also a few silly mistakes. Putted shit in the first 6 holes but really putted well for the next 48 so pretty happy I got it together. Nice shooting Paul! Not to put any extra pressure on you but I finished at +8 ๐

Nope. Iโm done. See you guys when I donโt have two or three blow up holes every stinking round. Out of nowhere. This is R2. R1 was +8 after a solid start.

A third round without a double bogey or worse - success! Played with hammers1man who really deserved an eagle at 16th. To watch that approach hanging over the water and slowly drift towards the flag, wow. Almost as scary as my drive at 18th, cleared the water by a foot or two. Rewarded myself with a wedge to 5 feet and my only birdie for a season best 77. That image didn't work. Uploaded at imgbb.com and the image is public. Tried both paste the URL and use "Insert image", no show. Woho, figured it out!

Can you see the leaders from where you are? I canโt. ๐ก I figure Iโll be bringing up the rear for a while yet. I just wish I didnโt need binoculars to see everyone above me. ๐๐ Other than my blowup holes, I didnโt suck too bad. R3 and R4 will be for points only. Straight shooting everyone!

Rounds 2 and 3. A poor front nine in Round 2, good fight-back on the back mine until the final 2 holes. Seventeen hit a nice tee shot but rolled back against the sleepers, wasn't sure how the chip would come out and just ran the par putt past the right edge. Eighteen, another hole where the yardage book shows the hole from about 5000', can't see where the drive distance is with regard to the hole, why is it like that on some courses? Anyway too careful with the drive and just drew into the drink! Pretty solid effort in Round 3 until 17! Tee shot not quite making it to terra firma! Not helped by the dusk conditions, find it hard to judge the power in the gloom. Overall pretty happy with the three rounds so far.
