My card for the fourth round. That was a very challenging round, glad to get through it with that score, very enjoyable in a strange way!

Final Round in. Been getting off to good starts lately. Missed an opening birdie by inches. When you don’t take advantage of close shots normally a bogey is looming and that’s what happened on the next hole. The stretch of holes between 3-8 had really good opportunities that just missed. Bogey before the turn kind of stopped the momentum. I want to thank the tree that saved my ball from going in the hazard on one tee shot 👍. Even on the back nine to finish at -1 and +4 for the Greenbrier. That was a really test off the tee as you had to work the ball both ways. Good luck to those yet to finish 🤙🏽

Putting stroke completely gone for this weeks tournament, one to forget and in my anger forgot to save R3 and R4 scorecards. Hit the practice green hard today and worked on my putting stroke, seem to do the trick as I am putting so much better and not missing putts down to a poor stroke. Played a practice round of Crooked Stick Lidar and managed to strike the ball and putt well.

It may be my imagination, but I would swear on faster greens that a short throw/slow tempo swing goes less distance than a long throw/fast tempo on a putt where the club is drawn back the same amount. I’m pretty sure TGC2019 did the same thing. Either that, or it’s time to up my meds..... 😀

Distance is all in the backswing length. I have tried every method on the practice green. Been putting well the last few practice rounds and have found a method to hit straight which makes a huge difference.Slower backswing works better for me.

Sorry, but I'm not convinced its jeff 's imagination. There is SOMETHING happening on putts, I just cannot figure it out. True, backswing speed does not seem to matter at all. But when going forward, if I hit smooth, and what feels to me like I'm slamming the stick forward too hard, it works perfect. But if I go forward and don't slam it as hard, then it goes about half the percentage. Thats with the exact same spot pulled back to.
Sorry but I've proven this to myself, in actually doing it. And I'll be honest, I'm just about ready to call it quits at the moment over this. I don't think you guys that are "getting" it realize how frustrating it is to someone like me who wants to have fun, and is actually hitting the ball fine in every other aspect of the game, except for short putts, to be on the green 2-4 shots, then take 5 putts to get it in. NOT because I'm misjudging distance, I know how far I want it to go- NOT because I'm terrible aim, I can deal with that and understand it when I aim wrong or misjudge the break- But simply because I can't figure out the mechanics of a stupid joystick controller. that has absolutely nothing to do with realism, its a stupid control issue.
Sorry about the rant, but like I said, this has about got me to the point of quitting, if I can't figure this out in another week or three. It helps to rant, forgive me.
Anyway, here is my latest theory-
It ALWAYS happens when I'm trying to hit the ball softly. Putts that are 6 foot, and mainly the ones that are even less. Its not tempo related, its something else. Either I hit it fine, or I don't. It does not matter how slow I hit it, just that I hit it slow.
It always does about half the power, or less.
So my latest theory is that I'm hitting it so much softer, or slower, that the analog stick is actually registering a distance pulled back at somewhere in between.
Like, I pull back to the distance Z, from the starting point A, then slam it forward, so it gets it power percentage from distance Z. But on the shorter putts, I pull back to distance Z, from starting point A, then move it softly or uncertainly forward... and somewhere in that period, lets say around M or N, I'm moving the stick so softly, or with uncertainty, it registers as a stop, another start, only now its starting from point M or N, not Z, so thats where its power percentage comes from.
Does that make sense to anyone else other than me?

I'm noticing something on putts and chips. But there's so many moving parts, and my stroke is so inconsistent, that it's hard to isolate exactly what's going on.
On chips, if I do a smooth motion and go back forward at the right time, it defo goes further, it seems to me. More lift on it and it goes further.
Something similar happens on putts, in my experience.

Yes. I missed a 2 foot putt this way on the Old White - moving the stick too slow forward and the ball barely moves. I have shot feedback on at the moment, because I need it to figure some things out - and the % on those putts are showing too little - so the game register those putts as weak in power. I have learned the lesson - concentrate even on the 2 and 3 foot putts. There is no tap in at that distance - and I am okay with that, because a 3 foot putt in real life isn't tap in. This can also happen on longer putts, where I take the club back at the correct length back, but either my thumb slips of the pad, or I move it too slow - the putt will end up half the distance. So there is something going on if you move the stick too slow forward.
