Back in the USE saddle and have to say I played better than expected. Only found a couple of places where I wanted to go splashy-splashy but chipped instead and....still wanted to go splashy-splashy. Well Art. If you are aiming for the bottom of the leaderboard - +80 total is the score to beat. I played absolutely terrible this week.

I'll keep trying andersnm but at this rate your spot is safe. But it is still early. Round 2 and I managed to keep the blowup holes away and had a few more chirps.

Absolutely brutal course this. The pins in round 3 felt like they were all on ridges. So many near perfect shots that just trickled away. Could have been special. Got my ball striking in order at least. Then just faded in round 4. On to next week.

Round 3 was great outward, not so much inward. Onward.

Second Round felt fairly solid tee to green. Lacked a bit of feel with the putter as had some early birdie chances to start. Make the turn at Even. Then get to the back nine. Very interesting to say the least. Lots of things going on with the scorecard. Lost focus on 13 tee, hit it way right and OB. Tried to minimize the damage but it was already done, walk away with triple. Goal from there was just to somehow get it back to a decent number for the round. Hit it stiff on 18 and tap in for birdie to again salvage what could’ve been a higher score, finish at +1 and +2 heading into the Third Round.

Had an 88ft, with 5ft uphill, putt on one of my holes. Was very tempted to chip, as tgct seems to have changed their ruling to 75ft, and I've seen no mention of max putt length here for the new game. Decided to putt, resulting in a 4 putt. Think it would be good for you guys to clarify...

Card for Round 3. Much like the second round a solid back 9 saved an error strewn front 9!

May also want to add if putt length + uphill component >= 100ft chipping is permitted.

Not a huge fan of chipping on the green. If length plus uphill is over max swing with putter then yes.
Would you chip IRL? If no - putt.

I'm not a fan of chipping on the green either, but I don't agree it's as simple as the same as real life. As you get to super long (and uphill) putts in this game, especially on the new one, the judgement becomes harder than real life, in my opinion. . This putt was right around the max level, but I knew there was a chance I could still charge past the hole, as the pin was by the edge of the green. I massively underhit it though; I should've just charged it up full as saw what happened! Anyway, I don't mind if the rule stays at 100ft, or putt if you can reach with max (hard to be sure often) or just you have to putt if on green! But, like I said, the rule has always been 100ft and tgct have changed it, so was just suggesting the admin let us know what the rule is for new game/season đź‘Ť

Another good start to the Third Round. But mcbogga was correct with some of the pins. Had some decent approach shots but they would run off and leave challenging putts to get close. Fair but difficult to account for the break especially when the putter had a weird animation due to the severity of the break. Couldn’t really get anything going and when I did, misjudged pitch shots went slightly long and couldn’t take advantage of the par 5s. In fact giving strokes away there on the back nine. +5 thru three rounds and lots to do in the Final Round. Tough track this week.

I have a club that I can hit perfect and in the tempo box consistantly- my Bridgestone driver, hit 86% fairways in round 1. Hit probably half of my approach shots fast tempo. My putting swing plane can be good or totally off miss way too many pulled or pushed putts but mainly down to the backstroke being off square, I find this tougher than in real life as my putting stoke is good irl. Went in cold and the front 9 showed it. I need to play practice rounds, round 2 was better but still silly mistakes. Wow I haven't played the game since Saturday and it shows, this game requires constant practice. Question is why can I hit a 298 yard driver so well so often but hook a 7 iron off the tee. . Well played SimChars1968 and artvandelay you both played some really great golf
