Has anyone seen jeff ? I was watching him on the leaderboard and we were hole for hole. I saw him go into the clubhouse at the turn and he never came out. I finished my round but still haven't seen him! 🤣🤣🤣 I saw you too! I was worried after nine because I was +6 or +7 or some other awful score and you were only +3. Then the back nine came and I did better but ended up tied at +7. Minor mental victory there. My short game saved my butt and my putting was decent. Tee to green was definitely below average.

That's a brutal course. Narrow fairways and tough greens! And I have 3 more rounds to muck it up!

Got my First Round in just now. Great start on the first hole. Drive in the fairway, hit my approach within ten feet and made the putt for birdie. Got into some tree trouble on the 4th. But made a long 42 footer up the hill to save par. Holes 7,8 and 9 got me with wayward shots. Double bogey on 9 after hitting it OB. Make the turn at +2. Could’ve been better, could’ve been way worse. Three birdies and another double hurt my chances of getting into red numbers to start. But with as much trouble with the rough and narrow tee shots I’ll gladly take finishing at +1 to start.

Well that second round was a right tale of two halves. Very worrying front nine, I thought I was going to blow all the good work from the first round, but thankfully things improved for the back 9. Very pleased at the conclusion of the round.

I was +20 in a quick practice, so was fully expecting this. 😀
Kept trying.

Well, no need to worry now jeff. I played my second round and midway through the round things went crazy. I lost my patience with the game and just played speed golf in Rounds 3 & 4. I was so disinterested I just slapped the ball around. I finished up with a +63. I think it's obvious I am no match for this new game.

I am getting totaly beaten by the course - and I love it! I feel I am slowly getting back the tempo - but still this is a demanding course that punish mistakes all the way. Just as it should. And I feel nervous with the driver facing OB and water. So this will see the highest score from me in USE history.

Do you trust that draw/fade over the hazards to come back into play? But when you get it right, feels so rewarding. The mental side of this game drives me crazy but that’s golf. Not an easy course to get around at the Greenbrier either. Glad to hear your getting the tempo back 👍

Round 1 = +2 Round 2 = +2
Sitting at +4 through 2. Round 2 was strange, I found myself playing out of the rough or sand on pretty much every hole. I think I hit 30% FIR. But somehow, managed to scramble my way through a bunch of Pars and a few bogeys and finally getting back to back birdies on 17 and 18.

Busy week this week so played all four rounds today, greens were tough as were some long shots, good test of the game.
4 putted 18 from 6ft to shoot +4 in rd 1, shot Even in rd2 with another silly double but cam back strong in rd 3 with a -1 round, had it going for a bit in rd 4 but ended up +1 or +2 for either +4 or 5 total, my game is real solid but I’m making silly errors mentally and through lack of planning. Slashing it like Bryson but without the calculations!

I am still finding my feel with partial pitch shots. I either hit it perfect near the hole or end up 15 yards short or long.

Came back today to finish my third round and played the final round while at it. Had all kinds of trouble on the second and third round, water, OB you name it... Also somehow managed to get a great triple bogey on the par 3 third hole on second round (shot didn't quite make it to the back tier and rolled back, three putts to the back pin, a chip to get back to the green and finally a putt to hole out) Having major trouble reading the greens and adjusting the putt speed on long putts. Final round was best for me this week, much to take from that to the next one

Back in the USE saddle and have to say I played better than expected. Only found a couple of places where I wanted to go splashy-splashy but chipped instead and....still wanted to go splashy-splashy.
