It seems PS4 and XBox are on the roll with the first practice tournament on Riviera with master difficulty.
I am about to set it up on PC. It seems from TGC Tours that there is a problem in enforcing difficulty settings in societies at the moment, and that HB is aware and working to fix the problem. But this is the time for us to test the new game and what settings we should use to get the most realistic experience.
Any feedback on settings, or things that we see that is unrealistic is very welcome.

I think Masters so far is about right, definitely tougher than before but it's welcome, I like the fact my swing can go to shit occasionally and once you get used to the putting it's nice - I like that the short putts feel twitchy due to the sensitivity of the stick - it's like real life knee knockers! One thing that has come up on the other forums are about "intent" on partial shots based on where you place the aim marker, it effectively slows up the swing a bit based on marker which is difficult in USE as we can't see the marker but it still has this effect. Here's the thread: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/24262/tempoYou can try it by taking a practice swing with a lob wedge pitch BEFORE cycling up or down the clubs, it's much different. The other thing we need to discuss is the splash shot. IRL I regularly play this type of shot when I need to land soft - it's effectively using the bounce of the club to slip under the ball and pop it up (not a flop because it's not a full parachute job like the flop, just a high shot between chip and pitch). I therefore would play this shot on the PS4 because it's how I see the shot. I think we should consider using this shot and not get caught up in the fact the call it "splash shot", for me it's just an open faced high pitch. Might be worth discussing it as a poll with all members to see their views. Otherwise, I really liked the setup for the first tourney - great job guys

To me the splash shot is the most arcade like shot in the game. Way too much spin bit like the old flop shot in TGC2.

Splash has way to much bite out of the rough with the LW.

Also shouldn't a splash produce less spin than say a SW pitch shot from the fairway. As you are opening the club face and getting bounce to pop the ball up in the air, a good shot if you are really sitting down in the rough with that steeper attack. The SW pitch the ball will run up the club face with the grooves creating friction.A splash would be a riskier shot, but I have watched pro's play flops from the fairway in an exhibition event. As an amateur I only play the splash out of bunkers and have gotten pretty good at bunker play recently. I play most pitches with my LW or SW, love the height I get from my 60 degree for chips and pitches.

I also tried to record a video with alt-windows key - R with no luck from my pitch in eagle. Is there another way to do it in this game Paul?

I finally was able to get in and play a round. Love the Riveria choice, I got it picked for me in the Stableford league as a "home" course over the summer, and actually got used to it.
However, I noticed that the settings had follow cam, scout cam, and grids on. Are those things that we are supposed to turn off ourselves, still? I thought the new game had the ability to set everything from the society, and my default settings wouldn't override it.
As a disclaimer, my score is with those three settings on. I just went ahead and played it that way since this is just for fun and testing right now.

There is a bug in the game where the societies settings are not locked - so you can change everything. HB is currently working to fix this as I understand it.

Tested this yesterday went onto the 1st tee on USE Exhibition 2 on PS4 and it was locked to our society settings when I tried to change settings.

Hi everyone,
Not very good at the game yet, playing on MASTERS using Doyly's settings finished 24 over par in the TGC TST event, I think the game is fantastic ,standing on the 1st tee hoping that you can hit the fairway. Every shot is a challenge , no grid putting seems to be the best part of my game I seem to have got the feel sorted out and I have holed some long putts.
I can't find the USE society on the Xbox, can you give me the name to type into the search box
Thx Terry

Hi Sam.
The Ultra Sim Experience
Can’t accept your invite till this evening when I get home.
I’m enjoying it too, but struggling with scoring so far even on pro setting. Masters will be a disaster for me I’m sure, but who knows, maybe my game management will limit the damage 😀
