Just read the update on the TGC page. Made me wonder how many guys use a less than 100% swing on full swings for distance control, and how many (if any) play it like I do and always go for 100% on everything apart from chips. My theory is that I struggle with tempo anyway, so just want to have one swing to reproduce - and that there’s only a 10m gap between clubs so if I hit it how I want I shouldn’t be more than 5m away. Just curious... PC here and there are plenty of occasions where the right shot is a 95% swing with one club vs 100% with anything else. Will I attempt it? Sure, without question, as the sage Herm Edwards said "we play to win the game". Will I pull it off? Sometimes, like real golf if you are in a groove sometimes you can do what you want when you want. If you are very good (PGA touring level) this happens more often than not. I am not of this level. I have had swings where it felt like I was feathering that 9I when I actually stepped on it and ZOOM there it goes! But by and large most of the time I am, on the full shot, looking for 100%. Onward!

Today, in my CC-E tourney, was facing a 279 yard Par 4. Can't recall the wind condition, but obviously 285yd driver would have flown the green. I had practiced a bit earlier on the range attempting 95% shot...which is about where my wrists hit my shoulders on backswing. Put it on the green, just a few feet away.

Hi Sam
I just bought an Xbox live pass for the year and was playing the match play thing, and saw your name pop up. I'm guessing I have to go back and accept your invitation?
I'm not that good to play against you guys, but I'll try. Only thing I'll warn if for some reason I get kicked out of a session, it's because of my satellite internet signal. Not because I'm doing poorly.
Btw, had fun playing skins yesterday against two other players. I won 8 skins on the second to last hole to win.
I notice you can do match play, best ball and skins. How does one join a stroke play match? Or can you only set one up against a "friend" you've added
To play in a USE tourney together, we would have to set a time to meet up on the Xbox, start TGC19 and when we are both on the 1st hole ready to tee off I would invite you to my party, from there I can add you as a rival player and you accept the invite and we would be ready to go. I think that's how its done ??

Thanks Sam I was inquiring as to how someone can play an online stroke play against another player. From what I see, you can only play match or skins or alternate.

Thanks Sam I was inquiring as to how someone can play an online stroke play against another player. From what I see, you can only play match or skins or alternate. You can play a tournament or setup a strokeplay round together, but it is not live as in there is a second delay before you see your opponents shot. Plays really well this way as well as a live match, you wouldn't notice the difference apart from not seeing your opponents practice swings or waggling of the club.
