Couldn't get anything to drop in round 3 and to top it all off got a very fast downswing on 18 that went in the water ... -1 so -12 thru 3 rounds

If ever there was a vote on something that we can probably all agree on, I think Masters clubs should be the only choice. If I can successfully go from pro to Masters in 4 months, anyone can 🤪

Round 2 with last weeks champ and actually gave him a much better match than I expected, somehow miss read a 3 footer early on and just missed a 9 foot eagle to tie Virt on 18. All you console users count yourselves lucky you don't have to tackle PC software that works one week and not another, for some reason I cannot screenshot or record through windows so am using Nvidia which screenshot the whole screen for some reason. Anyway great front 9 and would of matched my first round if not for a missed 3 footer. This is a course that I have walked about 7 times as a spectator so I know it very well, really enjoying playing it again on TGC. 13 under through 2, I'll take that and I haven't putted that well either. My shot of the tournament, a 1 ft downhiller I needed to land in the rough

Round 4 and I had more off tempo shots than I've had in a long long time ... Played shit on top of that as well and could only muster +2 for a -10 finish ... See you next week boys

Round 3 in the books at E. -2 thru 54. Mr.Vandelay is in my sights, along with Freebird who’s leading me by 1. Can’t remember ever being as immersed or enjoying a round more than that one. Might have had a couple of off tempo swings, but with the wind up it could also have been misjudgement. When you’re playing well and shooting around even par, you kinda feel like you’re playing the game the way it’s meant to be played. Larry (pbuh) would be happy to see most of us shooting realistic PGA scores. Had issues recording round 2, pretty sure this one will be there in my past streams on Mixer. Does anyone have a contact for Laz? I’d bet he’s play again if he knew we had our own forum and sees where you guys (Paul, Leon and others) have made of his idea. I have messaged him on Steam Ray, miss him as much as anyone who has known him here. Would love to have him back here, it our members that make the game for me and every society needs a character like larry

Also didn’t know pro clubs were allowed. Does anyone object if I use them for next weeks event to see if I can (try to) get up amongst the PS folk? My justification is that we xb folk have a disadvantage with tempo, and I’d rather it be with distance. If anyone objects, I won’t do it. Particularly XB folk. When Larry restarted USE multi platform I wanted to make it masters only as I also wanted to make TST masters only when I was admin there. The most important thing for me here is it should be as realistic as possible, I have tested PS4 and it is as hard to hit straight as on PC a little bit easier on the tempo. Would like to hear @sirwade comment on the differences of Xbox vs PS4 also, but one thing I have found is putting is no different from PS4 then PC. My problems with pro vs masters is there is no balancing what so ever, HB did nothing there it's just two difficulty levels with a little distance for compensation. Not sure if anyone remembers here that plays TST, we had a guy that came in from nowhere playing pro clubs one week and won comfortably then disappeared when it was suggested he play masters. Yes we have a difference in yards in the long game but pro's have a much more forgiving accuracy and tempo. Now I could live with that but when it comes to the short game pro clubs are ridiculously overpowered, if it is distance vs accuracy why are the short games not identical in difficulty. The most important criticism of pro's is the putting (which doesn't use tempo) is much easier because it is much easier to hit the putts straight ,that is the biggest problem I have as the putting is the most realistic and challenging part of the game, at least that difficulty is the same for all 3 platforms with master clubs. I am not sure who actually plays pro clubs(I know everbody on pc plays master clubs) and its players on PC like polekatt/josia and chipsforaces that I have huge respect for that are always fighting with their game and keep trying to improve it week after week but stick to the toughest difficulty. Btw Ray as your -15 last week showed you are way too good for the junior clubs anyway and tbh you would not be legitimately beating your fellow Xboxers each week using them imo. If I could I would have all 3 platforms playing Xbox masters tempo difficulty as it is the most challenging. Paul, after playing on Xbox for a year then switching to PS4, I can say tempo is much easier on PS4. I couldn't hit it straight on Xbox and I still can't hit straight on PS4. The biggest difference to me is that I don't have that one hole where I get a VF or VS downswing that kills a round. I very seldom have a fast on PS4 but occasionally have a slow and rarely a VS. I enjoy playing on PS4 more but not sure how much difference I am getting in scoring. Maybe a stroke or 2 per round?

Had a great game in R3! you better run, artvandelay I'm on your heels!
As I said earlier, work has been weird this week, so I hadn't played since Tuesday or so. Sat down to do and tried a bunch of practice swings, and sure enough, tempo was all over the place. So I quit out before taking a shot, and went and played a round on whatever the TGCT PGA tour was playing to try to get my feel and rhythm back. After 10-12 holes, finally started feeling it again, so went back and played this round. I'm really trying hard to minimize the tempo issues by controlling my swing and making it smooth, and when I do make a bad shot, then instead of getting upset, make the next shot count.
I really didn't realize I did this well until I looked at the scorecard at the end. I was just in a zone trying to make pars on every hole and hope for the best!

On Xbox, I probably get at least one VF per round...but usually can recover from it. One thing I've gotten better at, is hold making a downswing if I see the backswing going back too fast. I'll start taking a couple backswings to try and slow it down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Other times, let's say I'm hitting driver, I'll cycle up and down a few clubs hoping to change the fast swing. Like I said, sometimes it works. I also think a problem on my end is our internet connection. We live off-grid and get internet via satellite. So if it's snowing or raining, our connection is real slow, and I simply turn the console off and come back next day.

The whole game is not just about tempo, you need to hit it straight also and hole your putts. So much more to golf and we all know if you can putt....

More than happy to stick it out with Masters, I was just interested to see how big a difference it would make under these conditions. My tempo with everything switched off seems to be better than it is when I have feedback on, but I just can’t bite the bullet for my practice (TGC) rounds.
I don’t notice a big difference in the short game apart from the easier tempo with the pro clubs. With putting I’ve never noticed a difference because I have a pretty repeatable straight swing. I’m sure it’s a misread 95% of the time I miss, no matter which clubset, but I realise my experience isn’t the common one - most people say it’s like you’ve said.

For me, the difference when I go to PC is that within half a round or so I relax over tempo and start looking for fast fast drives and manipulating the tempo to try and leave tap ins rather than playing for the 3 or 4m putt I play more conservatively on XB and really just try to play straight. I don’t find any difference in accuracy of swing, I have my stupid left tick at the top no matter what I do lol.

Gone a little funky. D, 2h, 6w 3i-LW. Purely based on the gaps. Will see how I go.
Got eye of the Tiger set to repeat, Sam and Freebird set to go in turn order - it’s a proper last group Sunday afternoon (on a Saturday) Been looking forward to it for a day or so and conditions are perfect. Misso is out, lightly baked and 3 cans in, so I’ve got a good 4 can allowance for the round before things go pear shaped.
Sam’s to lose, he’s at -11 but rumour has it he opened a fortune cookie that said ‘+6, probably good enogg’ (Asian restaurants have notorious bud speeling). Freebird sitting one ahead of me at -3, but I’ve got a pocket full of change to rattle each time he swings and 3 quarters glued together as my marker - and I won’t move it.
Game on lads, may the guy at -2 win lol
🎶 Risin up, back from the streets...
Going live soon, will try to do the thing with the uploading once I’m done 👍

I typically am not one to be boastful about my accomplishments, but I must say something as I just finished my best four round USE Event. While it isn't the lowest total score I have ever had, the rounds were all solid and consistent. I have developed into a very good no grids putter. I have also developed the knack for hitting 95% shots and power draws. Hope to develop the fade in the future, but the slow downswing seems much harder to achieve when needed. When I needed my short game it was there, when I had to drop a bomb off the tee I nailed it. I executed so well all four rounds. So many times I needed a 95% or a power draw to get to the pin for a decent look, and I very rarely over four rounds missed the execution. All 4 rounds were an absolute blast, and I continue to add to getting my monies worth each and every week in the USE. Just wanted to say how much I enjoy this Society and the work that everyone puts in. I don't think anyone will catch me this week, but I have been way wrong before. Best of luck to everyone trying to run me down. -10 -9 -7 -7 -33 Total Great shooting! I had a very long shot chance at catching you, I needed a -10 in the 4th...and got a off to a good start with an early chip in Eagle. But everything unraveled when I foolishly hit an overhanging tree on one of the tee shots and drove 120 yards lol. That was all she wrote. I believe I finished -27.

Just read the update on the TGC page. Made me wonder how many guys use a less than 100% swing on full swings for distance control, and how many (if any) play it like I do and always go for 100% on everything apart from chips. My theory is that I struggle with tempo anyway, so just want to have one swing to reproduce - and that there’s only a 10m gap between clubs so if I hit it how I want I shouldn’t be more than 5m away. Just curious... Excluding chips/flops, the only times I really go for a 95% are low risk 3 or 1 iron (aka I’m not going to go in water if I screw up lol) or I’ll go short swing sometimes on the lob wedge pitch when it’s in that low 50s area and a fast PW flop won’t work. For the most part though, I just full swing regular shots and deal with the result.

Fwiw, I was going to say I was fine with you playing pros. But I knew there would be some resistance. (Not that anyone was silly about it!) I'm the same, in that ideally, I think everyone should use masters, but that's before considering the disparity between systems. My pure guess (slightly more than a guess?) is that switching to pros has more of a tempo/straightness advantage on xb1 than masters does on PS4, but of course you're losing some distance. Anyway, I would've been ok with it, but glad it's not a big issue for you 👍
