The ultra sim experience tour travels this week to England and London for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.
Wentworth Club is a privately owned golf club and health resort in Virginia Water, Surrey, on the south western fringes of London, not far from Windsor Castle. There are three 18 hole courses and one 9 hole course at the estate; the West course, the East course, the Edinburgh course and the Executive course (9 holes). The West course is the most known course and is the host for this event. It was designed by Harry Colt and opened in 1926. Harry Colt was hired by Walter George Tarrant in 1922.
The club is surrounded by and entwined with the Wentworth Estate, one of the most expensive private estates in the London suburbs, which was built at the same time, where many top golfers and other celebrities have homes. One of them is Ernie Els, who became the club's "world-wide touring professional" in 2005. Over the winter of 2005-06 Els, who is developing a golf course design practice, made alterations to the West Course, lengthening it by 310 yards (280 m) and adding 30 bunkers. Wentworth also has a tennis and health club. The Wentworth Tennis and Health Club consists of a gymnasium, dance studio, health spa, ozone swimming pool and jacuzzi, crèche facilities, changing rooms, and a café. So after the rounds is done, one can head to one of the facilities to relax. I am thinking of a soothing bath.
The weather forecast for the week: Wind: low, medium, high, high Wind direction: east, northeast, south, southwest Green speed: slow, fast, fast, very fast Green firmness: firm, firm, firm, very firm

Looks like rounds 3 and 4 ought to be wild!
I really like how you added the green speed and firmness. usually takes me about 6-8 holes to figure that out each round, and I'd played for a long time before I ever realized they changed from round to round. For the longest time, I always thought that however you set it at the beginning, stayed that way the whole match.

For the last tournaments, we have played with the same speed and firmness on all rounds - like this week on Bjaavann. I will continue to add the information also on those weeks that have the same conditions each round

Wentworth is not a super tough course, so we went for tough conditions to finish. Glad to hear someone approve of changing around the green conditions. It's better if someone is able to test the conditions before changing too much, and thankfully Anders did a couple of rounds for us

It's a shame sometimes real courses don't transfer as tough in this game. As someone who has seen many tournaments at Wentworth as a real life spectator it is a tough course, Danny Willett play some fantastic golf I think he finished - 18 to edge out Jon Rahm by 4 strokes in this year's BMW PGA Championship . I am a huge fan of Danny BTW,he had a complete collapse after his shocking US Masters win. Takes a real character to play as well as he did in 2019 and fight back. Also love watching his draw shots😊

Also love watching his draw shots😊 I'm not too sure about willet, seems a bit of a weirdo to me. Enjoyed his masters win though, and that last round versus rahm was excellent play. I don't think loads of us will be bettering his -18! But yeah, the top 3 or so will probably go a fair bit lower. In games, the par 5s are too attackable, in my opinion. To be fair, I've played it on tst, so that was easier. We'll see what happens. At least we know use will make us play the course as it is meant to be played!

They did make the driving easier than TGC 2, would love to have that challenge again off the tee that we had in the last game.

I’d like to see XB Masters tempo on all consoles and the clubs to be shortened to Pro distances so the courses get their teeth back. Remove the loft box and make people hit draws and fades with the stick. I would like to see a ball position change available to change flight and distance, but not have it as powerful as it’s been - maybe 5m shorter and a metre or two higher on a wedge off the front foot as opposed to moving it back in the stance. The bones are there for a brilliant game.
I like Willett. A world number 30 odd winning a major shouldn’t have been framed as the miracle it was. I think it made him question himself excuse every single media outlet covered it like it was a fluke and a one in a million. It just wasn’t. The American media were in Speith mania and were comparing him to Tiger - it was ludicrous. Willetts brother is a bit of a twat but less than I would be in his position so I can’t criticise too much lol.

Ideally one that’s still a few weeks away so I have a little time to get it done. 1pm Sunday here, waiting for the 4pm rollover of events. Works out kinda well because the cricket finishes at 3. A smart person would play a practice round and map the greens a little, but nah...

Looks like I was scheduled first off the tee today on the PC side.
I managed to continue to hit the ball very well, and got under par! I read that this course might play a bit easy for us, but I would like to think that I'm also playing better. We will see how I fare in the later rounds.
Since I had to start so early, I was famished, and went inside the clubhouse for a nice Sunday lunch at the turn. Came back with a full belly and felt weighed down on 10, but managed to get the momentum back after that. Overall very pleased.

Struggled with slow greens initially but got going thereafter and was looking like something double digits under but parred all three par 5s on the back (17 & 18 were pars I was happy with in the end, got v ragged) and finished at -8. Good start but oh what it could have been!
Course is pretty well done but there’s a few things for the designer to work on just to improve presentation further, that said, it’s a pretty good RCR and I enjoyed it
