Also respawn sport has a good video of Top Golf 2K23 paying master and not using follow cam.

Looks like shot feedback is in the difficulty settings now, so it should be able to be turned of in society difficulty settings. As it is a visual aid with practice putts and partial shots this is good news.

Gone are the days of just grabbing your clubs and heading to the course.

Chipping looks way better and greens are much faster by the looks of it.

After watching several of the videos released today I have to say I’m not really liking what I see.Looks like whoever has the most vc to spend on balls will be at a major advantage. Those temporary skill boosts are so arcadey as well.Hope I’m proven wrong but I can see a lot of disappointment coming our way.I haven’t pre-ordered yet & I think I may wait to see everyone’s reactions after the game is released before committing.

The good thing is we don't have to use the skills which is arcade nonsense, not sure how much impact balls make till we try them though. I think nearly everyone apart from mouse users will be using the vibration aid for chipping and putting on TST. I know a lot of the names on the top of the TST leaderboard use it now. You would think the game was easy enough for them on pro lol without taking all the difficulty out of the game especially putting. No marker is a must for USE in 2K23 as it takes out practice shot feedback.

That's exactly how I felt too Mark. Instead of playing the game it will be a lot of time tinkering with all the skill boosts, clubs, balls etc. They have turned the game into a nickle and dime arcade affair. People will spend tons of money to get the most VC they can to keep up with other players. I was thinking today of cancelling my preorder and waiting to see how things turn out as well.

I'm very curious to see what we will be able to turn off in a society.

There will come a time where you max the available attributes. So you can have a golfer swing build. Like I stuck to the same clubs I have now for the last 6 months I won't keep tinkering my golfer build as I don't with my clubs in 2K21. It will be a grind to get to the finish build but in the end better than the arcade like club attributes we have now. I haven't been happy about this skills for a long time when we first heard about them as it is as arcade as you can get.

Practice swing feedback will be an aid for partial chipping so that has to go.

Mixed feelings here too;
Like the look of swing mechanic - it’s like a hybrid of TGC2 and 2k21, the straightness of the swing path is much more penal and has more derivatives on direction, much like TGC2 but also has tempo and transition penalties like 2k21 (although I’ll admit the transition is now a new consideration). All in all seems harder to hit truly great shots all the time. The bigger grey zones mean you should also cut out absolute horror shots (on PC with my controller I only hit less than 10 perfects all round and many more red fasts and slows than grey) which should mean it’s not as much of a grind with the long game but also quite hard to knock the flagstick out.
Seems a really good balance compared to Masters (not on PS) currently.
Not that excited by the skills and VC nonsense but I’m sure it won’t affect societies too much

I’m hoping we can lock off those temporary skill boosts but I doubt it.Certainly being able to lock off shot feedback is a major positive.Sad thing is I personally think the current game plays like a dream now with our settings & we hanve have hundreds of great courses to play.Ah well, hope my misgivings are unfounded 🤞

Just read Doyleys write up which was very good.Sounds to me like Legend will be the way to go.

There are parts of 2K21 that I really like the way we play. But the short chipping is really awful, I hate the backstop to the chipping backswing as it is really unrealistic. The chipping in the new game looks so much better.

Yes definitely looks like Legend could be a goer! It would be good to have some test events on both to see what gives us the best cross platform play.
Having played the old game on both PS4 and PC, I found when on PS4 that Wade Colly and myself were all very similar standard and regularly had great battles but when I went to PC I was way a drift of their scores but then found myself competing with Paul, Simon, Charles for second place behind Tuff Guts!
It would be amazing to find a setting that creates similar parity between our different platforms, be it Legend or Masters. That would really open up the interest from both platforms (and Xbox if that makes a comeback)
