Round 2 and walking and talking with paddyjk19 . It was like seeing an exaggerated Olazabal in his hay day. Short swinging, almost chipping, many drives (not on purpose I am sure) leaving a lot of work left to make a par. And he did, and did again. Never seen such display of wedges and pitches to save par for such a long period of time. With better drives, that could have been a 63-64. I could not find a good tempo and had to get out the short game (not on a Paddy scale though). My 2 birdies on the front were a 11 yard pitch in from the heavy rough and a chip in. Chipped in for par as well once. 2 bogies on the back and both were 3 putts from over 50 feet. Keeping myself under par and happy. Where's the video of the pitch in? This is a tough course, under par is a good score. Damn, didn’t think of that. And as a side note. On another course today, I hit a totally fluffed 3W off the fairway. Not higher than 5 feet and stopped about 100 yards away. I like this change.

Round 3 shone a light on me and my short game could not save me any longer! I know how Wade felt the other day!

Can't remember what I hit last night but was close to double figures over par. For a fleeting moment, I thought my recalibration was going to work but to no avail. Also thought the 163 greens ran a bit faster that I was expecting. Today is another day.....

Round 3 and having the honour of playing with the course builder @pakalolo77 . We both started in a furious tempo, making birdies on different holes. I can't remember on which hole but we both had pitches in from the fairway. His from around 30 yards and me 5 yards shorter. And we put on a clinic. He holes his and I followed with almost the same, leaving it 2 feet short on line. I holed a sliding 44 footer later as a revenge, hehe. The back 9 is tougher and it showed. Very happy with another 67 and I was driving the ball better than all week. One thing I have forgot to mention. Maybe a months ago, I played with charles56 and discovered his shoes. I thought there was no shoes like that in the game, but found them. I still play in my pimp shoes.

Alriiiiight....it's all about alcohol. A couple of beers and half a bottle of red. -4 after 7. Dropped 3 shots on 8 and 9 then 3 birds on the back 9 for a -4 and +4 after 3 rounds....looks out you front runners.....hic!! Then got it to -5 after 15 in Rd 4. Unfortunately putting let me down (a couple of precarious pin placements and a few too many herbs on long putts) and dropped 4 shots in last 3 holes for a -1 and +3 overall. -5 in last 2 rounds......suddenly I'm all warm and fuzzy again.

Final round and decided to check out what Tuffguts is drinking. As you can see the beers does not bite until the middle of the round. At the same time he probably run out of beer and the hangover showed its ugly head in the last 3 holes. I had a tougher round this time. Bad shots mixed with good shots. Often hideous first putts but holed a few second putts for from a longer distance than it should have been. It ended with level par and I would take that any day. PC clubhouse at the moment. Key stats on a long course in the 3rd swing era, or double-nerf era if you want.

Tee'd off with Jeffield again. Well the scrambling game was very good, 4 tough up and downs from the bunker, chip in par,22 foot par putt, good pitching scrambling game and the partial LW was on song including a fairway hole out from 16 yards on 17. New controller has helped my whole game. A good grinding +1 on the 18th tee, hit a grey fast 94% Driver and didn't make the carry . Rehit, good drive and good iron approach but couldn't quite drop the bogie putt. Really enjoyable course that is a real challenge, one where you'd would take par and head for the clubhouse. A bit behind on our results and tables as it's been a hard couple of weeks at work with the joys of the M25 on the way home where your driving time home can double in a instant. Should get things back on track on Sunday and hopefully I can squeeze the next 3 rounds in tomorrow and Saturday.

The new mechanic is definitely like real golf, nips you in the bud whenever things are looking good! it's so stressful trying to get round in one piece currently!

Yes and it gives you that nice feeling when you hit a good drive as it is challenging off the tee now, more than it has ever been, love that. A 3 wood is actually easier to hit for me, so it is a good strategy on shorter holes.Ironically I seem to have developed a grey fast drive which is a similar ball flight to my real game.
