Guys, I'm REALLY sorry if my settings for the final day have depressed everyone! I thought I was the only one, then have just read through this thread. I think it was a perfect storm of the following- the pins towards the end of rnd4 are BRUTAL! Near the edges of the green, and on mounds. They're not "illegal" but they're close! I tested round 1 and 2 on tough conditions, high and very high winds and fast and very fast greens, and they were tough, but ok. I think very high wind, with very fast greens, with rnd4 pins was just too much. Tough to ranger every possible condition with every pin. I was going great guns on round 4, -1 after like 10-11 holes, was SO happy with my concentration and sensible play, then missed a short birdie putt on the final par 5 to take back to -1, and then a shit show from them on. The fin stretch goes a bit silly. I wonder if that final stretch on pinset 4 would've been really tough with ANY conditions, but the very firm greens defo didn't help! Once again, sorry, and let's have a calmer and easier week next week! I think the only problem Leon is very fast greens in round 4.Links courses don't have really fast greens as the ball would be blown off the greens in really high winds. Yeah, I hear you, will defo learn from that, and once people all start looking at the thread and offering thoughts, maybe rangering too, we can double check things. Like I say again though, I thought the front 9, and a few holes after that, played well (enjoyably tough.) It was those last 5-7 holes...

I know you will figure it out Paul - don't give up! I have never had any disconnect, so I don't know what the problem is. That 4th round was a disaster and I know you will come back and beat me several times, and I completely understand that you need to vent off some after that (take a pint with @sirwade ! ). I think the problem is that I got totally wound up by it Anders. I certainly can't play this game when I'm angry. The two disconnects in round 4 were straight after a great birdie putt and an approach to 3 foot. So 2 birdies robbed from me. I was playing really well up to that point. I found I played way too fast for the remainder of the round and kinda just finished it for the sake of it. I play the game over a powerline as it is awkward running a ethernet cable up to the room my PC is in. I know they can be a problem with drop outs. Does anyone here play the game over a Wi-Fi connection? as I might have to buy a Wi-Fi card for the PC. I have cable to my PC, but I have no problem with my Wi-Fi either, so it should work perfect for me. My internet provider has some rare downtime at times, so I could get a disconnect if I play at that time, but because it is rare - and mostly due to updates - the chance is very small for me. Playing while angry is no good idea - in this game or on the golf course irl And I understand why you get upset and angry on those circumstances. I would indeed be angry myself, but then I would either tell myself that I need to calm down, or come back to the game at a later time - hard to do on the course irl, so I use the "Tiger Method": I allow myself to swear and rage for 10-20 seconds, where I decide to let the bad shot or decision rest (or bad luck, but I usualy don't complain on bad luck, but with disconnects, that is bad luck). I think this helps in getting calm on the next shot. I am finished with the last one, and concentrate on the next as if nothing has happened. Some times, harder said than done.

After going -6 in R1, I just made some pour decisions and missed some putts. Just surviving to finish at Even par didn't sit to well. Going into the high winds in R2 and still angry from R1 I should have stopped and played later. Then the snowball effect happened lol. Then as you said, I was finishing just for the sake of it, knowing I was completely out of any kind of contention. Yes, overall the conditions were brutal. But they should be brutal in an Open tournament. I just need to learn how to play smarter and manage the course and conditions better. I should start playing ghosts more and taking my time. I think I play a little to fast most of the time. Easier said than done I'm sure. I play on Wi-Fi on the PS4. I do use a wired controller because I have seen my swing get wonky with the controller on wireless.

Just couldn't get it done. Played a stellar round 3 of -9 to get to -20 through three, but couldn't make anything in round 4 and made too many mistakes. Finished the round over par for the first time in awhile, and 3 shots back at -19.

Season 2 Week 28 The Open at Royal St George's Sandwich Congratulations to UncleVirt who takes the Major on -22 and a 4 stroke win over stoneysooner on -18, Tuffguts is 3rd 6 stroke back on 12 under. Round of the week is an incredible 62 (-8) in round 4 by UncleVirt, probably one of the best USE rounds considering the conditions, well played. Shot of the week is this great 47 foot eagle putt by Lkeet

Handicap leaderboard up tomorrow, Internet has been down all night. Damn Virgin Media š£ Virgin are crap! We just left them and went to NowTV. 18 quid a month for decent speed (not good for people who "need" fast, but I'm a heavy user, and it suits me...) The last issue we had wasn't virgin's fault, but they took AGES to fix it! That was the final straw.
