That's that, uninstalled the game from my PC and got a refund from steam (hopefully, I have played 15 hrs). So I will be on the Xbox from now on or until I can afford a new PC. But to be honest I will probably be looking at the new Xbox that's coming out this year … This will be far cheaper than buying a high spec PC..

Pardon my ignorance, but what is/are 144's? Medium speed greens. I think I attacked too hard in Rd1 and left myself with too many 5-7 footers for par. Ahhh ok. So like a stimpmeter reading.

You would be surprised from just upgrading the graphics card the massive difference. My cpu is over 5 years old, my GTX 1080 about 3 years old. Most games run great on 3440 x 1440.

-4 first round. Happy with my solid play, missed some chances, but also made some good short putts and a couple of medium for par, so can't complain.
I've been very inconsistent on those annoying short putts where there is some significant break, but you should still make them; started second guessing them and it's become a trend.
Was 1 over par coming to the first par 5 and made a 47ft eagle putt. The definition of a momentum change, and played very solid from then on. (I'm putting the eagle putt in "shot of the week," if anyone wants to see it.)
Nervous to play the next round now! Haven't started well for ages!

Second round plays a little easier than the first I thought Leon. Just make as many birds as you can before Sunday - it’s a brute. No complaints as it’s an Open, but I hope we save those conditions for special occasions 👍
Nina the number (144) is the max distance you can hit a putt on those greens if you’re using imperial measurements. If you’re on metric (as I play) the speeds range from 36m for the slowest greens up to 57m for the fastest.

I’m looking at upgrading my TV first, then getting the new XB when it comes out. I got the missus a flash new smart TV a couple of years ago so the one in my manlounge (caves are for cavemen) is about 10 years old. I’ve got the original XB1 so it hasn’t mattered, but it stopped me getting an XB1x and now I may as well wait for the new one. I love driving games as well so I’ll need a new wheel once the boy starts uni and moves out, so it’s another reason to wait for the new console.
Heath has been a bit crap since XMas but had a little hospital thing today that should perk me up. Hoping to do a little part time work to fund the upgrades 👍

Kicking myself for flopping a shot up a steep green, but having it roll back down. Ugh!

I said in the tournament conditions thread I was going to suggest more benign conditions, as we've had a lot of wind recently, and then realised it was time for the open. Usually, the UK open courses are on the easy side, in my opinion, and the open needs to be tough, so I REALLY cranked it up, and it's actually not SO easy as some of the other courses. So yeah, that Sunday became a real battle of a round. Tldr: it WAS for a special occasion, and I'm going to suggest some more benign conditions over the next 2-3 weeks (not every round of every tournament, but fewer of the high and very high wind.)

Funny, I can play better in winds 14-24mph, than in winds under 5mph. Doesn't make sense. Having said that, I predict a 4th round of 85....because I opened my yap.

Scrappy -1 in Rd 3 and dug deep in Rd 4 for a -4. -12 total but 10 off the hot pace of unclevirtThe pin on 9 in Rd4 is a nail biter. Cheers

Late to the tee this week, but off and away with a very solid, no mistake -6. Made a couple of nice breaking putts, but also missed a couple of gettable ones. Seems I need to average -6 to get to the lead over the next 3 rounds, but as always that will be the goal despite the conditions.

Even par second round. Decent but frustrating.
All the action was down the final stretch. JUST missed an 8ft par putt, JUST missed a hard breaking 16ft birdie putt, recovered well with a nice birdie, then missed a short putt on the final hole that had insane break to the left. Always disappointing to miss a shortie, but man, that was insane break so close to the hole. (I was to the right and just past the whole, if I remember right.)

My ROG GR8 is a small form factor PC, with a cut down NVidia T750, graphics card which can't be swapped , It's really a laptop without a screen, but it fits nicely inside my TV cabinet and connects via HDMI. I upgraded the memory and that's about all I could do.
Steam have refused my refund, you have to play less than 2 hours on any game to qualify Grrrrrrr., Ah well it was only £13 so not to worry I will give it another go and see if I can improve the gameplay.
Hammersman I seem to remember you saying something about turning off the VSYNC. setting in the forum somewhwere, will this improve my glitches?

Worth a try, vsync stops screen tearing by the graphics card waiting for your monitor/TV's refresh rate but causes latency which is bad for tempo in this game. I really recommend Razer Cortex, it's a great free game booster that will free up memory and stops background programs effecting your framerates while you're gaming. What fps are you getting in this game Sam?.
