I just googled it.
" The name -wich comes from the Anglo Saxon -wīc, meaning a dwelling or fortified place where trade takes place. The name means "market town on sandy soil"
On the subject of Sandwich in Kent, I'll be playing this links course with my society in September 😊 www.princesgolfclub.co.uk/

So I uh was extremely frustrated and ready to break everything through my first two rounds after seeing every shot roll down a hill, missing multiple 5 footers and just pretty much everything going wrong to get to -6 through two. And then the final two rounds came and literally all of that changed and I finished -8, -8 in those to finish at -22 for that tournament. I'm happy with that for these conditions. Good luck everyone! Sounds exactly like my start (including wanting to break things)...although I doubt I’m going to be able to match your last 2 rounds! Continuously left every shot short enough to roll down the hill, missed a very short par putt. Putts left short also over and over. Just never learned! Also had a nice 74 foot 4 feet uphill putt in round 2 lol. Thought my event was over as I wasn’t sure it would even make it up the hill, but got lucky and at max power landed close to the hole so I could par. I also constantly keep leaving pitch shots too short, to again find myself rolling back down a hill lol. I still haven’t quite figured out distance when it comes to uphill pitches. I went -6/-1. First round I definitely felt like I should’ve done better though...2nd was just tough so not to upset.

Played R1. -1. Holed a horseshit 16m, 1m uphill putt on 2, then holed a horseshit flop to be -2 thru 3. Couldn’t hole anything after that - had a couple close and a lucky save, but a dirty bogey as well. Had shot feedback on and swung it straight-ish, but had a couple of off tempo as is expected. I play for a pull from the little left tick I normally get on my swing, but hit a few more straight than normal. Just felt I was miles away with feedback off, will see how I go after this week. It’s in my past streams. mixer.com/Big_M_Tiger_73

Not really, but I’ll plough on for now. Didn’t completely hate it. I’m not playing any TGCT rounds so I’m hoping I’ll freshen up 👍

Very happy with my 1st round even par.
Been a good week so far. -2 and - 6 in TST halfway. Might make a cut. And -11 and -12 halfway in CC-E

+3, +5 first 2 rounds. Had an 8 on the 10th 2nd round thanks to going past the pin and leaving a 2 foot downhiller that I putted off the green and down the hill, then flopped past the pin and did it again. 🤬

I have played at least 5 practice rounds. Playing the best I can I have only managed a -3. The rest of my scores are -2, -1, E. This course is a (golf) ball buster.

Total bewilderment here. I cannot for the life of me understand how the heck I shot -6 in the second round. No chips, no flop ins...just not getting into trouble. Was reading every putt for some reason. 7 birds and one bogey. I think what's changed is my putting: 100% 0-5 feet and 90% 5-10 feet after 2 rounds.
Never will I have another round like this...so I'm savouring it.

Your round has cheered me up and got me kinda looking forward to teeing it up and trying to chase you down in R2. Well done - inspiring stuff 👌🏻 Edit - Also, how long have you been sandbagging to set up this handicap win at the Open??? Lol.

Superb round in those winds, well played👏 Thank you ☺️. All the credit in reading wind was from reading the forums on TGCTours. A 64 on tough greens in very high winds on Xbox is a really great achievement and you should be very proud, I'd be super chuffed with that round. Proves you can play Ultra Sim as there are no aids to help, round 2 was tough I scored a 71😉

Been boggod down totally with work but it gives the PC society a bit of time to adjust. The handicap leaderboard will be back for this weeks open.

Couple tourneys ago I had a hard time scoring as I was always in the trees. Another big change that I implemented a few weeks ago was to maintain a regular practice schedule. Before every round, I hit 30-40 shots on driving range, another 20 flop/chip shots.
