Forgot to get an image of my scorecard for round 3. I was probably too exhausted playing in such winds on a park/forest course. I hardly hit a fairway in the beginning, but somehow managed to finish the first 9 at -1, mostly thanks to the putter. It started getting scary after a while, holding -2 after 15. Would I finally break par? I donβt know if you remember that OOB to the left at 16. I did and still do. No idea why a sudden pull appeared on the same tee again. A triple bogey and back to the usual over par score. One break through was a no three put round. Never happened before. Must have holed about 5 6-9 footers, including a 7 ft for a 2 put birdie. And pretty happy to have a sub par round left to fight for. (<- a lie) And totally agreeing with paddyjk19 regarding courses, love those more unassuming but well executed courses. And Helsinki GC looks like the courses Iβm used to in Sweden. I got you mate.

I'm so glad you like the course, gives me motivation to continue future courses I think I'm improving in shaping my long shots both ways when needed, and especially with the partial pitch shots around the green. I still prefer to play the bump & run shot whenever I can, but sometimes there's no other option but to pitch the ball, and I don't fear it as much as I used to hah. I finished my last 2 rounds earlier this week, couldn't avoid the bogeys, but still managed to make good use of the birdie chances I made to keep me under par. On the last hole of the tournament I missed my second shot long, tricky lie in a ridge and green sloping away back from you, the last place you want to miss it.. Managed to chip it in for an eagle 3, definitely the highlight of the week for me.

3 rounds in. Tricky course. My Xbox Elite controller is having connection issues so I had to switch to standard Xbox One controller. My putting was most impacted with the different controller.
-4 -3 +2

Rushed Rd 1 before the missus grabs the PC tonight (teachers do way more than 7 hour days by the way)....bloody -1 after being -3 (and playing very average) then bogeying 16 and 17. Could not buy a mid range putt. Could read the slopes Ok but most putts were missing by half a hole either side and that's the difference between a -1 and a -10. Sleep on it and reset for tomorrow night....maybe without that half bottle of red with dinner. Gotta love Aussie Shiraz though!! Cheers Teachers are amongst the most overworked, undervalued and underappreciated public servants (and professionals in general) we have. I've worked in schools and with young people and your wife has my full respect and admiration π

Round 4 and the real Art Vandelay showed up. Righted the ship on the back somewhat, but the damage had already been done. Lovely course, enjoyed my rounds here immensely.

I've worked in schools and with young people and your wife has my full respect and admiration π Absolutely. On top trying to teach pre-schoolers from a dozen or so different nationalities, she's gets crap thrown at her from all levels....students, parents, other teachers, the general public (here in Australia anyway). The consensus is because a few bad stories come out in the media about teachers not doing their job properly, all teachers get thrown into that basket and the good ones have don't get the air time to defend themselves. Common theme about so many aspects of our life....the focus on the negatives. I work in the mining industry.....after Rio Tinto blew up Jukkan Gorge in the Pilbara (aboriginal rock shelter / cave), the whole industry has the finger pointed at them....."cultural genocide". Give's me the absolute 5hits that activists get all the media exposure to rant and the good guys take it up the back door.... Anyway, back to the golf. I'm just knocking off the other half of that bottle of red and will hit the fairways in short order. 2 rounds of TST and 3 rounds in Helsinki Finland........"your mountains so lofty....your treetops so tall...."

I played round 4 with artvandelay , this time in an outfit that can only be described as a popular contraceptive in Sweden in the 1970s. I suspect he is a latex manufacturer or latex salesman. Anyway, this latex man outplayed me tee to green, but on the greens I had the upper hand with some ridiculous saves, even bogey saves. All while Art three or four putted. I thought I had him but it turned out his final score was some 17 shots better than mine.

After a so-so Rd1 of -1, had a solid -7 in Rd 2. Rd3 tempo was out the window.....lots of fades for some reason. Could be the alcohol?! Anyway, ended up Even par. Then had a -6 in Rd4. Tempo was still a bit off but lucked a few putts and close chips to save my bacon. -14 total. Cheers

First round: Started very well - but then I missed a few approachesbut scrambled well. Until I went greedy on the dogleg right par 4.. and missed fairway on the next par 5 and a bad pitch to the green. Made some very nice putts this round.

Third round - and I had problems in the wind. It was not only me as I could see on the leaderboard, but I almost never got close to any hole, and then there is always a struggle.

Fourth round - and my putter where stone cold. So many on the edge putts that I couldn't believe it. And so I was quite upset to not beat artvandelay this time. But - first sub par tournament is always nice with solid play all rounds (in one evening also).

Round 3, and apart from the double on the second, pretty pleased with that effort.
