Stupidly played Rd1 last night when really not in the "USE state of mind". It's a frustrating course at the best of times, particularly when tempo is out of whack. I think I hit a +6. Looking forward to some wider fairways in the near future.

Round 1, enjoyable. Nice position on the LB. Some PC heavy hitters yet to start.

Back to back levels, although round 2 had more drama. Still in a good place on the LB.

First round with new member wimi and Dave C. Was going really well till the 8th hole, perfect drive down the middle but ended up right behind a tree made a mess for a double bogie to bring me back to E. Went to pieces a bit from there, pushed my tee shot ever so slightly off swing line into the water on 14. Made the same mistake as davec187 and took a drop into an impossible situation on the next fairway with trees in front of me. Like Dave I had a horrid score on 14. Hole 4 round 2 was totally putt off by tree shadows moving really fast, made a mess of 4 putts for a triple bogie. 2 shot penalty for me on 18 as I hit a splash from rough thinking I had picked pitch. Frustrating blow ups as my tempo was really good.

Third round - no double bogeys or worse - and putting is really getting better. I am going to continue to use the LT overhead view with full back and forth. 100% short, and 40% medium putts this round. But 11% GIR.. that is just not good enough. Felt I hit the ball okay, but had a few bad spots, like hitting behind a tree on the right side of the wide 18th fairway - that is just a huge mistake.

I did favorite it, which I think saves it, but I didn't feel like going through the whole OBS making it into a youtube video thing last night.

Round 3 and had a double bogey on holes 1 and 9 and one other bogey, otherwise all pars for +5. My card for Round 4 and another pretty solid effort. Very pleased with things this week on a very tight course.

Fourth round - total disaster - started really bad where I did not adjust for the faster green speed. So wimigbg - you beat me this time All I can say is - Onwards!

The greens in reg in this course is not always a true reflection of approach shots. I hit a lot of good approach shots in round 1. The greens are small on this course and with being firm I found it hard to not just roll off them , also the pins were pretty close to the edge of the greens so GIR can be a bit misleading and I hit 33% in round 1 and 72% FIR. My first round average proximity to the hole was 28 foot which isn't too bad. Lovely course Anders, I hit 1 practise round could of done with a few more as bad course management cost me quite a lot of shots in my first 2 rounds.

Yes - some of the greens are small - but I need to be more accurate. I was intentionally a bit left on the 14th all rounds - and I think I had no bogeys on the 14th. I was also not good enough off the tee - though I do have some intentional long shots on some holes - like the 9th tee shot. Had some really great pitches on my last round, and almost eagle on the 8th (but ofcourse missed birdie putt). All in all, I feel better about my game, now that I think I am on the right track for putting. If I can get back the accuracy I had tee to green on Augusta, and putting like the 3rd round here - I am sub par. Just a note to self, to adjust to new green speed before hitting the tee Also - missing fairway on the wrong side on this course can lead to all sorts of trouble. Tried to be creative to make some hard approach shots, but not always a success..

Tried to be creative to make some hard approach shots, but not always a success.. I do like the creativity that comes into play with not having splash outside of bunkers. We both had roughly the same distance shot from the rough on a par 5 of about 20 yards. I hit a pitch to about 8 foot and you did the same with a chip and we both holed for birdie. With splash that's an auto shot, so much more skill is required without it. Everyone I played with in the first 2 rounds hit some great pitch shots also some bad. I do think it brings a more realistic scrambling element to the game I hit 62% in round 1. I probably got up and down with half of my pitch shots in the first 2 rounds.
