It is the course that literally put Hilton Head Island on the map and more than 40 years later, Harbour Town Golf Links remains one of the most revered courses in the world. Home to the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event, this distinguished course places a premium on finesse, imagination and shot making, rather than strength. Put your game to the ultimate test against a collection of par threes, ranked among the world’s finest, and a par four 18th hole that is one of the most recognizable holes in all of golf. The crowning achievement of famed designer Pete Dye, no golf excursion to Hilton Head Island is complete without experiencing this Lowcountry legend. COURSE DETAILS AT A GLANCE... 18 holes Course Architect Pete Dye Design consultant Jack Nicklaus Resort course Built in 1969 Year round golf season Open visitor policy Tee times welcome Driving range and putting greens available Onsite teaching pro and golf school Additional golf services include golf professionals, rental clubs and rental carts (included in green fee), forecaddies and caddies

Finished round 1 at +8. I totally misplayed a Par 3 where I landed in the water and took a drop behind a bunch of trees, really stupid on my part. Ended with +6 on that hole. I also missed a ton of < 10 ft putts. Greens are tricky to read with the shadows. Playing off the tee is super critical. Alot of strategy on which side of the fairway to go for and with some really narrow fairways. The course is spectacular. Really beautiful and plays great for USE. I'm really looking forward to my remaining rounds.

I was pretty bummed that one of my all time favorite actors died yesterday at the age of 90. Sir Sean Connery passed away. My first movie I ever saw at the theater was Thunderball in 1965. I was 6 years old. The movie inspired my interest in scuba diving. I finally fulfilled that dream 18 years later when I earned my Advanced Scuba Diving Certificate. R.I.P. Sean! I saw my buddy paddyjk19 out on the course at Harbour Town so I decided to tee it up with him. The course has a lot of knee knocker shots. I don't even want to think about when the winds pick up. I was at -4 and then missed a 5ft par putt. I then hit an errant 2nd shot on 18 and ended up bogeying the hole and finishing at -2 for the round. It felt really great to finally put a good round together. My stats were realistic as well. We will se what happens the final 3 rounds but completely thrilled with R1.

Gunna try concentrating next round but it’s hard as I like to free wheel speed golf and at -4 it was working!

I usually speed golf as well. Decided to slow it down first round, that's why I played your ghost. If forced me to slow down lol.

This week at Harbour Town is probably the most challenging off the tee we had so far this season in my opinion. My driving accuracy has not been very good and it showed in my practice rounds, ranging from 12-40% FIR with scoring from high 70s to low 80s. On top of that, my swing/putting line with my Xbox Elite controller almost looked like my signature. Don't know what happened since my rounds at Augusta. Decided to just go with it and get my first round in. Surprised I was able to hold it together. Played more partials to try and keep it in play. Hit some really good shots with shot shaper. With one, 5 iron punch shot underneath some trees and another a big fade around some tree limbs both to within 5 feet. But missed both putts as my putting line was way off. Could've been a few better and definitely a few worse. -1 to start this tourney. I played some practice rounds on the PC after this round. I don't know if it's the FPS are better or the PS4 controller. My swing/putting line was straight and tempo was better than Xbox. After this week, I'll plan to make the change from Xbox to PC for my USE rounds. Just put in my request to join PC society.

After venting my frustrations last week(well that is what Augusta does, isn't it?), drawn back to this method of play again. Finally settled on a club set I am happy with going forward and my Round 1 card is much more like it!

I just finished R2 at Harbour Town. Who’s the idiot that put high winds on a tight tree lined course? Oh wait, that was me lol. I used actual conditions for Hilton Head. I holed out for an eagle on 18 to finish at +3. I really needed that shot lol. Will post shot in shots of the week.
