If golf was as easy a hitting a big curveball to the fairway wouldn't that be the shot shape of every pro with driver.

There have been some valid points on how everyone here at USE goes about playing the most realistic golf in this current state. I hear both sides of this argument/discussion. Personally I don't see where the 30-40 hook is coming into play. For me when I play a draw its right edge of the fairway and with the recent putting fix, it feels like the draw is a lot tighter than before. There are different shapes with the red fast. Obviously the VF is more of a hook and that horrible clunk sound that comes with it. To me that should be penalized even more like in 2019. So if I play the draw along with a fade with the swing mechanics and putting in time on the range to account for this, am I not complying to how USE should be played. That's how we played in 2019. Heck I didn't even know we could use true shot/shot shaper until a few days before our season opener. Does that mean I am not enjoying the game or passionate about USE gameplay? I play partials a lot, I flight the ball in low and high with shot shaper to account for wind. If I am wrong then we should state how shot shaping should be used. If we said that to draw/fade the ball we must use the shot shaper. Again more risk and reward, but I'm assuming that is the way we should go about in playing to get as closer to realistic as we can. We can all adjust, look at the putting fix. It'll take some of us time to get it, but then we can just focus on playing golf. We have what we have, and I personally think it's as close to a golf sim I've ever played. We could all go on and on about who's right and wrong. But what do we do as a USE community to ensure we go about playing this game the right way and get what we want out of it? I don’t like the shot shaper for left and right because you’re still swinging straight, it doesn’t feel like your shaping the ball while tempo feels more skilled IMO and was exactly how we did it in 2019

Every top player on your tries to eliminate the two way miss. Tiger in 2000 snapped his left leg straight to take the left miss out. Tore his knee apart doing so. Monty won 8 order of merits never missing left. Koepka only hits fades, takes the left out of play. Nicklaus too So Tiger or Monty never went left, I have seen Monty play live at Wentworth and hit shots left, difference is in the game you actually eliminate going one direction, you make driving easier and that is not a good thing. It is not that hard to hit in the grey box on PC and PS4, Xbox is tough though. Find me a video of Monty missing left and I’ll eat my words, Tiger in 2000 also very rarely missed left

Think we have to agree to disagree on this one

Saying it's "arcade golf" to play a hook/draw seems extreme to me.
Do pros aim far into the rough? No, probably not. But I've seen PLENTY of shot tracers in recent majors with a very noticeable hook/draw line on them, for sure.
I aim, to Paka's point, yeah, like edge of fairway, if the wind is blowing left, maybe into the rough a bit.
My shot tracer is probably a bit more exaggerated than the ones I've seen in real life but man, if that means I'm playing arcade golf, I guess I'll just have to own up to that. Seems like I'm only very slightly off what I've seen in real life. Due to where I'm aiming, if I hit an exaggerated fast, or a very fast, my drives find left rough.
As paddy said, on difficult courses, with narrow fairways, it's not a huge advantage, if at all, to have a draw on your drive.
I think we've all agreed people shouldn't be mashing the stick, I don't think anyone here does that. And most seem to be talking about drives, so that's only what, like 20% of our shots, plus some approaches? (Pretty sure I've seen irons with draw on them in shot tracer as well; probably pretty mild draw, being honest.)
With masters swing, no green grid, no lie grid, no splash from rough, I feel we're playing a pretty "realistic" game, myself.

With masters swing, no green grid, no lie grid, no splash from rough, I feel we're playing a pretty "realistic" game, myself. I concur. Erring on the side of fast or erring on the side of slow depending on the shot you’re trying to hit is skilful not Arcady, like I said, if you try to hit perfects and can miss either way which makes it very hard to trust your game. A fast in this game is the equivalent to guys on tour using a go to fade off the tee. Dustin Johnson hits fades so his clubface is more stable and he doesn’t hook, I hit slight fasts so I know I won’t miss short right. All I’m doing is trying to find consistency in what is a really challenging game! When we are all shooting 65 I’ll eat my words but until then let’s just enjoy the challenge and all improve in our own way. It’s not like anyone here is splashing from the fairways or chipping out of bunkers. We all play in the right spirit

If you read Tigers book “how I play golf” he mentions it in there, regardless of whether he DID miss left on occasion, his intent was to avoid a two way miss. Like every professional

I guess I am in the minority of one that thinks we should go for the grey tempo box and that outside of it is WAY too forgiving. Why is everyone not playing slows anyway much more of a controlled shot with more backspin, less chance of running out of fairway.

On left to right holes or if there’s water on right. Aim left, slow to hit fairway, perfect or slight fast into the left rough which is WAY better than water. It’s a potential ONE way miss. This is the point I’m trying to make

Yep, I play slows too...
Again, final point I'll make on it, we're talking about maybe 20% of our shots here (I play for quite a lot of perfects, and the occasional slow) and I'm fairly sure we're not talking about stick mashers, so is this really a hill we need to die on?
