Needed some extra time the other day on the practice green prior to my First Round. Was starting to push putts to the right, turned on shot feedback and my putting line was going in to out. Plus trying to work more of a consistent fade with the driver. Tee shots here really didn’t fit my eye in practice rounds, it was either rough or hazards/OB. Short game session paid off, putter got hot and pitch shots were on point to take advantage of the par 5s. 16th misread the putt for par and 17 got too aggressive on my birdie chance leaving a downhill slider which put me in a tough spot. After that front nine, knew something special was on tap.

Rd3 - started birdie birdie then dropped 6 shots in 4 holes from 4 to 7. Ended the round +2. Rd4 - Dunno what happened but spat the dummy big time on the back 9 for some reason and ended up +12. I think my efforts to speed golf back fired on me. +18 overall I think. Trying hard to like this game but the tempo is killing me. It must be a very fine line between fasts and slows. Looking at the qually leaderboard and I'm down around 1500 so CC-E to CC-F looks like the go. Bit of a let down after getting to the top flight last season. Oh well, plenty of room for improvement.

Round 2 stunk, but the stench is a stink I am getting used to.

Fought my swing and putting the whole way, but finished tied 3rd after R1 at +12.
Tried to play 2 rounds in one go. Bad move.
R2 was a disaster as I added loss of mental focus and a few water balls to my other woes to card a 90.
Sitting +30 after two rounds. I’m not sure I’ve scored even one birdie at The Stick so far.
At least I’ll go out early enough on Saturday to be back in the clubhouse in time to watch the leaders play on the big screen telly in the bar! 😀

Not a good week on Amy societies for me!
Was -33 after stage one of Q school at TGCT, was on track for PGA but shot -2 in stage 2 so my dreams are crushed, also shot lots over for 4 rounds on USE too!
Been in the designer too much and have lost my tempo! Love the fact this game bites you if you slack off!
I better get practicing this week although I’m hampered by a real life golfing weekend to the Belfry Brabazon on Friday. Hadn’t hit balls for a few months and I’m hooking it off the planet. Kept thinking in my head that I’m struggling with Very Fasts haha! I’ve got some of that Xbox tempo going 😂😂😂

If it makes you feel better it’s pissing it down with rain all 3 days of our trip! Two things are guaranteed though; I’ll be trying to drive the 10th green. I’ll be drinking lots of beer in the Sam Torrence bar

Round 2 , played much better tee to green than the score, silly mistake on 9 perfect drive right behing the tree. Tried to to hit low under it and hit it into the creek, bad course management must remember to hit a 3 wood next round. Missed way too many birdie attempts including a 6 footer. But a lovely approach to 4 foot on 18 for a disappointing 76.

At last a half decent effort in the 4th Round to make up for the dross of the first 3!

Good start to the second round. 3 wood in play and pitch shot with SW to 4 feet. But for the rest of the round, just couldn't find the right tempo of the tee. Double crossed myself, luckily into the rough and not in the penalized areas. A few short putts that I wasn't quite focused on missed for par. This game requires a lot of it. Got extremely fortunate on 16 as I flared my approach from the rough which headed right, hit a wooden plank and kicked left of the green. Easily could've gone in the hazard. At -2 heading into the Third Round. Side Note, how do the designers balance creating golf courses and getting practice in? That designer side of things can be addicting.

Havent played for a week almost, and this game requires swing maintenance for sure. My putting feel was off and otherwise I was mixing some great shots in between mostly bad ones. A struggle. Waterball on 10 both rounds, one OB on hole one in round 2 and a 5-putt on 14 in the first round... Well well, managed 8 straight pars on the back none in round 2 at least...
