Couple things-
After the patch, where things lock for the society, everything seems to work for me EXCEPT the follow cam. I played last night and confirmed, new patch, after patch tournament, the follow cam is still on for me. Would love to know if it was left on for this tournament, or if its simply not working like they say it should.
As for the tempo, I am at that point were everything is still 101%. As someone said in another post, I can do my backswing, then turn three somersaults and jump up and down, and stand on my head, then complete my swing and it still does 101%. LOL But more seriously, when I try to do the quick swing to make it 95% or whatever, everything just goes haywire, because I am either getting very fast, very slow, and in combination, when I hit the ball that quick, I can't hit the controller straight up and down, so the ball ends up out of bounds or in the other fairway.
As far as club choice, I have been spending my coins on different versions of the same few clubs so far, before equipping the whole bag, to try to see what works best for me. So far forgiveness seems to be the big factor that helps me over the other three.
Follow cam is not lockable in the society. So you need to go into "Cameras and presentation" and turn it off.

ah, Ok, I did not realize that. will do.
Also, I just now noticed the rules up at the top of the page where it actually says that. Also, I see where it says splash shot only from sand. I think I've been using it anywhere just off the green to get a 20 yard distance. So if we aren't in the sand, do we just have to do a partial shot with one of the other shots, like when we were doing partial flops from sand to get the 8 yard shots in 2019?

I’ve certainly found the swing shorter and brisker than the last game, same with putting. I think trying to pull back slow for long swing or putting is detrimental. My back swing is quick and so is my downswing with a quick change of direction and I’m hitting it pretty solid. I’ve also gone for shorter more forgiving clubs Jeff, not sure if that might help you too? I’ve nearly cracked it now but I’ve been practising loads. Faster swing is definitely better Jeff so give that a whirl and aim for 95% power with no pause when changing direction. You’ll get it nailed soon mate! Club choice is a variable I’ve pushed in the direction of distance. Forgiveness is worth a look. But I need more coins to buy different clubs. My 2k21 Go Fund Me page is gotmoneyquestionmark.com/JeffIsReallyNiceAndNeedsCoins/Game is going to evolve towards needing to use max distance longer clubs to be competitive so no reason to go for the training wheels now the way I see it. And I prefer to hit close to PGA distances in a PGA game.

I think the forgiving clubs are underrated - I’m shooting under par now on USE rules with legend difficulty because I think the clubs are helping. I got a driver that goes 268 and 3 wood going 243. My driver is more forgiving than 3 wood and then I’ve got a hybrid going 215, a 3 iron 199 and then 4-9 (9 iron goes 140), PW going 116, GW 107 and then LW doing 82 yards. My wedges are maximum forgiveness to help me scramble

Yes the problem is that 2k have to cater for arcade and sim, I’ve got a long / unforgiving 3 wood but a very forgiving driver as that’s more important to me to not lose golf balls OB or water. I think the variety gives good scope for someone to tune their bag to their strengths / weaknesses BUT you are right anders, there are for sure some errors with the numbers on yards carry etc

On a brighter note, I really hope you all enjoy West Hill in the practice event this week, it’s been a labour of love getting this course on the game and a place I hold very highly in architecture and design. In total I’ve spent more than 200 hours on it so I hope it plays well for all of you this week!
Local knowledge helped me out of the gates and I could have had a really insane round but for a couple of three whacks which left me on -5 for rd1, mixed lots of birdies with errors in rd2 but followed up with a -1 to finish on -6 for the event. Very happy to get through 36 holes without exceeding the stroke limit!
I slowed the greens up a bit this week but it’ll be a different course if I turn them up in the “tournament” version I release later

I am loving the Taylor Made irons that I bought ,will get them for my wedges also as I still have the default HB wedges.

I think the variety gives good scope for someone to tune their bag to their strengths / weaknesses BUT you are right anders, there are for sure some errors with the numbers on yards carry etc I understand that they need to cater for the casual gamer that want to hit the PGA tour and swing like a pro, wear the cool equipment and clubs etc. But - and this is important - I firmly believe they can keep all things realistic, and at the same time provide a good game for the casual gamer - and the game would be much better also for the casual gamer if they avoid these arcady things. I said this on the HB forum over a year ago - that if they got license on brands, and they wanted to give the clubs attributes - they better make sure it is realistic. They didn't listen to me, so I am going to remind them of this towards the next game. There is no reason for this unrealistic bullshit. The loft selection is also just a joke unfortunately - and the golfer still has the same swing speed - but buying a driver can reduce your driving distance with 20 yards - this is just ridiculus. And the tradeoff for workability with irons and wedges are also just not true to real life. The casual gamer want to hit the longest, with accuracy. There is no reason for this unrealistic tradeoff. The casual gamer just pick the long hitting club, and turn the difficulty settings to what is needed. This whole thing is just catering to those that where persistent in wanting unrealistic risk/reward bullshit out of clubs on the HB forum with more clubsets. I had really hoped they had left this bullshit behind once they abandoned the clubset as difficulty - but unfortunately, they brought it back with the clubs attributes. They have sort of brought in, but not to the degree I would want, the realistic risk/reward when it comes to distance - overswing.

The Taylor Made irons I bought are a little bit more forgiving than the HB default ones.

I'll have to check, I think it's the more forgiving Bridgestone one of the forgiving Mavrik - it carries 268. 3 wood is the Hogan one that carries 243. Think my irons are the Callaway Forgiving ones - 4 iron goes 186, 9 iron 140. Wedges are a mixture of forgiving Callaway and something else, can't remember the other brand

You're definitely right Anders, luckily the main soceities play on masters or legend so it doesn't pay to just whack it miles, hopefully that'll keep the game realistic

I hit a longer driver but have a 248 wood that is easier to hit than driver. Using Taylor Made driver but might go back to the Bridgestone because I was hitting it better.

I slowed the greens up a bit this week but it’ll be a different course if I turn them up in the “tournament” version I release later Can definitely tell that you spent a lot of time on the finer details on this track paddy! Fantastic! Made the change to Callaway with the complete bag after playing Ben Hogan’s from day 1. Just wasn’t hitting enough fairways and greens to score well. Was always scrambling for par. Plus maybe I needed something different to look at while playing to change it up. Driver 288, 3 wood 241, 3 hybrid 224, 4 hybrid 215, 5 iron to 9 iron 192 to 153, PW 136, GW 126, SW 112, LW 98. Interesting to see the different combos that other are playing with to fill in gaps. First Round at West Hills just now. Those first three opening holes if you are in the wrong spots have bogey or worse written all over it, at least for me with my practice rounds. +3 thru 3 holes and was searching for something to steady the ship. Birdied the par 5 5th, bogey on 7 but made a clutch birdie on 9 for +1 at the turn. Came up to the driveable par 4 12th. Needed a partial driver and from the tee box it was tracking right at it. Waited a long time waiting for it to roll out but couldn’t see it till it was rolling somewhere on the green. Go up to putt and it’s seven feet from the hole and make that for eagle! That’s USE for ya. Two birdies and a bogey the rest of the way to finish the round at -2. Here’s the best part was thinking to save that replay at the end of the round as I didn’t want to stop the momentum from that hole but at the end I accidentally hit advance and never got to watch how the ball ended up on that par 4 lol Great round with that -6 paddy. Again really enjoying the different feel of these UK tracks in this game. Top notch stuff!

As for the clubs I have chosen - I have chosen them mostly because of looks and okay carry distance, shot shaping.
I have played with the long Bridgestone driver - but just now changed to Taylormade Sim driver that has a better look for me. I don't care much about the 7 yard loss in carry, but I do not see much difference in forgiveness. I also choose the realistic loft for me - 9 degree. Taylormade Sim fairway woods, 3 and 5. Wilson Staff Model irons 4-9, and wedges 46, 50, 54 and 60 degree.
