Admins do that voodoo that you do so well.
For week 50, we travel to the legendary TPC Sawgrass for the players championship.
From the initial idea by former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane R. Beman, the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass was built in 1982 to host THE PLAYERS Championship and be the permanent Home of THE PLAYERS Championship. As the first true “Stadium Course,” it was designed to improve the overall on-site fan experience. Finally, the Stadium Course would be a championship-caliber course accessible to all golf fans.
Working with renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, Commissioner Deane Beman created a course design that favored no particular player or style of play. The result is a truly balanced course. Players find a selection of short, medium and long holes within the categories of par-3s, par-4s and par-5s; both right and left doglegs; and a course routing laid out so no two consecutive holes ever play in the same direction. With its signature island green on the par-3, 17th hole being one of the most recognized in golf, this legendary track has captured the imagination of golf fans all over the world and is consistently named among the top golf courses worldwide. While the 17th hole gets a lot of attention, the 18th hole on this golf course – a 462-yard, par 4 guarded by water down the left side, is a formidable finishing hole.
The Stadium Course has been honored by multiple golf publications as a top golf destination. Golf Digest ranked it 48th among “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses for 2019-2020″ and ranked the Stadium Course 12th overall among “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” in 2017-2018. Golf Digest ranked the Stadium Course the No. 2 “Best Course You Can Play in the State of Florida”.

Gorgeous flyover/course profile in that first video. Worth a watch.

Double bogied 18 after a fast sponsored by the good people of HB and missed a few putts on the front. Also had 2 eagles and finished -9 for the round.
Led by 2 last week after 1, let’s see how the detonation happens this week.
Hope everyone is well 🙏🏼

Very annoying end 🙄 I've had some very good rounds here, on normal and use modes. But I actually find it a really fun course, despite the birdie pressure. Scoring going to be VERY low this week. Hit the putting greens everyone!

I know I am alone in wanting to play very fast greens if the real course has super fast greens but irl Sawgrass greens are super quick (13 on the stimp meter in 2016 which made Augusta feel like an 8). I know the default isn't very fast but it should be.

I know the default isn't very fast but it should be. There's been times I've loved it, and times I've hated it. Probably two reasons for that. 1) obviously how well I'm putting that week! 2) whether the course can actually take VF greens. It's not just about what it's like IRL, it's about whether that translates realistically into the game, for that course. Generally speaking though, I agree with you. And think I agree on Sawgrass; they're not ridiculous. I quite like VF greens. Still remember, way back in the season, everyone struggling/moaning with the VF at spyglass, and I was just zoned in. I had a great week, all-round game, but especially putting. I was tapping every putt, holing loads, and lagging the rest. It requires a lot of playtesting and taking notes for next time etc to really nail the settings for every tournament. It's a big ask of our admin team. I think we usually get it right.

Sawgrass and Boston can take very fast greens. Sawgrass in particular is not too challenging but at least with very fast it won't get torn to pieces. I do agree some courses can't take VF.

I played my first 2 rounds at Sawgrass. I have always loved this course. I played poorly mainly due to my putting. I also had the obligatory water shot on 17. I am at (-5) after 2 rounds.

LKeet6 I see you have your game back recently. You have been scoring well and I'm glad to see that. It's going to be tough to catch you and the others these last 3 weeks

LKeet6 I see you have your game back recently. You have been scoring well and I'm glad to see that. It's going to be tough to catch you guys these last 3 weeks Nice one mate, appreciate the positive words 👍 I'd say I'm more up and down. I've had two really good results, that I've been pleased with, and at least two where I've felt the frustration creeping back. Glad I've ploughed on, and done the classic golf thing (when you're in control that is!) Of being philosophical about things, thinking that the next round could be the good one; if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have had that good tournament last week. Still feel like I don't have 3-4 good rounds in a tournament nearly as often as I "should" do...always out of reach, that consistency...

I just finished playing the final 2 rounds at TPC Sawgrass. All I can say is that it was GOLF at it's finest. I struggled the entire R3 to keep it at even par. I birdied 17 to go to -6 and was feeling pretty good. I hit my drive on 18 and it landed about a foot from going in the water. I was setting up for my approach shot and misjudged the severe lie by the wood railing. I plunked it right into the water. I ended with a triple bogey on the hole to drop me to -3 for the tournament, ugh! I started R4 a little dejected and tried to stay positive. All of a sudden my shots started pin seeking and putts started dropping. I hit my tee shot on the par 3 13th offline (as usual) but it took a nice bounce and rolled across the green for a HIO! I ended up shooting -8 for the round and -11 overall. However I don't think the score is low enough to hold up against my hungry competitors.

Went -11, -7 (I think), -5 and -5. Had a nice Rd1 with low winds and stuck it close a number of times. Started to overread most of my putts from Rd2 onwards for some reason. Just reading too much break most of the time and leaving it top side. Rushed last 2 rounds a bit.....got a bit complacent. Anyway, decent sim form this week after a -40 on TST. Note to myself...."NO RED WINE BEFORE TEEING OFF". Cheers
