Wow.
I think the official announcement could REALLY put the cat amongst the pigeons.
I wouldn't even entirely rule out them having removed the course maker.

I don't think they will but I wouldn't put it past them charging for certain objects, trees, billboards etc. Also cosmetic items for avatars. As long as they don't put in all the crap that actually made the game easier the more you played in the later Tiger games on consoles.

There a heap of speculation on the TGC forum, but it’s been confirmed the creator will remain. I just hope the platforms are level. I think the game improved overall from the last one so I’m not as cynical about it being good. It’ll be the best golf game ever, I have no doubt - it’s just a matter of whether they’ve fixed the things that bug you personally.

My worry is in that promo video a pro just tee'd up a 135 yard shot like he is about to hit a driver. Also what pro on the PGA TOUR uses graphite shafts on their irons 😉

"In a statement, 2K marketing boss Chris Snyder said PGA Tour 2K21 will offer realism and depth for seasoned players who want a simulation experience"
This is at least good news. For me, the most important thing to get into the new game is proper 2 club drop rule and penalty areas. Then we all want explosive bunker shots. That we can lock off the loft box.
The graphic in the new game looks very much the same as we have.

The thread on the other site has been good. Good info and good debate. Good balance.
I'm in the negative or "uninspired" camp, personally; but the optimists have made me feel a bit better.
Seems like the game at least won't be "ruined." Will play similarly for us. A lot of stuff to try and pull in casual players, same options for existing "hardcore" players.
Not much done with the graphics, but some saying they can see some small improvements.
Not much changed considering they've been attached to the game for a LONG time now, and it's f'ing expensive!
I don't usually buy full price games, so I may be away from the game for a while when it first drops. We'll see...

I will most likely buy the new game - perhaps even pre-order from steam (also very likely). So there is a big question what we should do for season 3. We end our current season a few weeks before the new game releases.

Keep the matchplay and team stuff going until
A) the community decides now is the time to swap to the new game, and then
B) we have enough people with the new game that starting a new season is appropriate.

The hours I put in TGC, it actually works out really amazing value for money. Unless they really screw up the simulation part of the game it's a pre order for me.

Would be nice to keep this society going for the new game. Curious if there is an option to lock loft box, ghost balls etc will TST do it to have a real sim mode on TGCTours.

Oh, we'll DEFINITELY keep this society going! I was just talking about a timeline, as not everyone will have it from day 1. Going like (I assume) TGCT and just saying "from day 1, this society is in 2k21" is also an option...
