I didn't see a thread on this one yet, so I made one.
I'm not as good as the others at a preview, since I don't watch golf like you guys do.
The course is somewhere near San Diego. Its pretty. Here is the link.
If an admin wants to edit this post and add a better description, feel free!
Edit: (Leon here. Thanks for getting us started Josia! 👍👏 I'll just add a quick course description and video 👍) Torrey Pines sits on one of the prettiest golf course sites in America, atop coastal bluffs north of San Diego with eye-dazzling views of the Pacific. Rees Jones’ remodeling of the South Course in the early 2000s not only made the course competitive for the 2008 U.S. Open (won by Tiger Woods in a playoff over Rocco Mediate), it also brought several coastal canyons into play for everyday play, especially on the par-3 third and par-4 14th. An annual PGA Tour stop, Torrey Pines will see its second U.S. Open in 2021.

Just played Round 1, first one out on the PC clubhouse.
hammers1man has said this would be a tough one, that pars would be the norm, not birds, and he was right, as far as I could tell.
I was doing fairly ok at first, until hole number six. I just could not figure out that green. My putting lie was very tough, for the slope, and I did the back and forth thing. After that, it just went downhill. My swing was a bit off, the greens were hard to figure out, and it seemed every lie was right in between the clubs I needed. Oh and add in some high wind.
Wasn't worth a screenshot. LOL

Well that didn't go well.
I have actually played this course IRL, albeit 30 or so years ago. Was looking forward to it, then I saw rain.
It rarely rains in San Diego.
What ev. Anyway, played probably my worst round of USE in a while. No chirps. TWO OBs (saved par on 6, double Humph on 7). And I was -6 on the last five holes.
+12. ALSO not worth a screenie.
Ugh.
Onward.

I struggled in every tourney I played today including this one. R1 was a struggle, rarely had a confident approach and the wind was fighting my bread-n-butter f/p shot. Was lucky to salvage a +3. R2 played more into my game but I still struggled on the greens. Happy with -7 R2 but so/so -4 halfway.

Just finished my tourney:
Ev ; Holed a short bunker shot on 1 for bird and then it was an arm wrestle to keep it together in the wind. Nothing much happened. -8 ; Putted really well with lots of good lags and a few decent length putts sunk. Blind hole out on 13th my highlight. +2 ; Nothing went in. Every putt slid by the hole. 2 chips and 2 putts on 4th for a double after my first 5ft putt shaved the hole and ended off the green. I think 8th was a disaster as well. Forgettable round. -6 ; Started birdie bogey and then was solid in that last 13 holes with 6 birdies. -12 total. Didn't know what to expect after not playing this course for a number of months. A couple of brutal long Par 4's into the wind....12th I think is a killer. Cheers and good luck.

There was quite a bit of rain at the 2016 event, apparently. There's always a chance of rain by the sea. This putt is amazing! 😁👏

Tough first round didn't help that I putted badly

Still struggling on the greens needed a chip-in eagle on the last for a respectable score

Horror first round, eagled the last for +6 lol. I love this course in real life and the designer has done an OK job although his presentation in parts is pretty sloppy. Has anyone done a LiDAR version of this yet?

Has anyone done a LiDAR version of this yet? Nope, no LiDAR. There are some open areas, lacking in detail, but the holes themselves are great, in my opinion. Big fan of this one. (Sure it could be done better!)

I love this course and set up, really feels like golf when you are not pin seeking all the time. It's where to leave your approach to not put yourself in trouble. I putted really well and my long game was better than it has been and I am happy with a 74 on a really challenging test in the 1st round. Stupid bogie on 18 where I went for a partial shot when the safe approach was needed. I did have problems with the wind meter not correctly showing the wind, did anyone else have the same problem?

I do remember thinking 'something' seemed off with the wind, but couldn't put my finger on it.
I started to play today, since I was off work today and had the time. I think this course is beautiful, so looking forward to playing more of it.
But when I did my 'warmup' round, I could tell instantly today was not the day for round 2. It was one of those days were the tempo is bad, and everything I hit no matter how much I tried to slow it down, was fast or very fast.
So I'll try again tomorrow evening for round two, today ended up just being mindless fortnite red vs. blue games. hahah

A rare Monday appearance on the course....-9 opening round. Missed two short putts on back to back holes, one being an easy 5 foot uphill 1, but did make a chip at least to feel like I offset that.

-1 first round. Missed a few short putts and finished the back 9 poorly. Definitely left a few out there. Hit driver driver on one of the par 4’s and was happy to make the front bunker. Used my +1 old man short game to make par lol.
Really nice greens. Had a couple roll beautifully. None better than a 25ft birdie putt on 2 after a silly missed putt on one. Will have to start recording a few nice shots again...
Good luck all. Except Gav 💋😂😊
