It might be worth asking the community at TGCT to see if they have some suggestions to help? How much of the planted objects are at surface level and how much stuff did you bury? If you didn’t bury much it shouldn’t be an issue to lower using the lower terrain tool. Could also make a copy and then experiment on that one and I could do the same to see if we can get a solution and if I manage it I just send it back to you to finish. I’m just really concerned that if the sea isn’t right it won’t feel right.
Did you play the other version to see the grass bits?

I’m just really concerned that if the sea isn’t right it won’t feel right. Did you play the other version to see the grass bits? I have no problem with how the sea is now. It's perfectly fine that you don't think so. I am also not a fan of the planting/rocks on the previous version, so I think we just disagree there. Also note that he used tropical theme, while I use Delta - which gives very different ground texture. Tropical is alot greener, while delta is more rocky. That was a decision I was comfortable with, since tropical was ruled out because of tree variety. So the cliff faces will be more rocky as a result of that. I will much rather use videos and pictures than the previous version as a reference. For example - all the rocks in the sea is wrong, as is plenty of the bushes around the 7th green. All the pictures and videos I've seen show rocks on the cliff by the 7th, then more grass as you come to the 8th. So what I wanted to do there, is to plant rocks and not trees and bushes. But the limits of the rocks in the designer is for me most telling when doing cliffs and coastlines. The rocks here are pretty dark in real life - while delta theme only gives light rocks. That could be fine, but the rocks are also very jagged - and all rocks in the designer are smooth.. what to do.. what to do.. So I left it alone so far. Other parts of the coast has the flat rocks that is also not found in the designer.. And then you have the muddy/rocky part along the 18th which brings us to the mud texture. I used it on Harbour Town - but I am not a fan of the mud textures in this game, and how it don't blend in.

I can't understand why some are so concerned with number of plays. Which is totaly irrelevant. Players will play known and famous courses. So what? Players on TGC tours will play courses scheduled for the tour. So what? Some will play courses made by the most known designers at TGC tours, so what? Number of plays will tell you very little of how good or bad a course or recreation is. Yes. It is said that the right side of the 14th is eased up so it can have pins. It was not used in the US Open 2019 however. The pins in US Open 2019 is the locations I have used also on the 14th.

I was only trying to say this course is that good it will be very popular.I think i will say no more about this course and wait to play final version only trying to help. Thanks - and no problem. There is this idea over at TGC Tours that number of plays is the telling of how good a course is. I totaly disagree with that, and I don't care at all how many plays any course gets in the game. I have now planted the gorge behind the 10th, added grass on the places where I had left a bit (also the left side on the open area from the 6th). The 1st green needed some smoothing to the right side as well. The 18th tee is moved a little bit forward to avoid the fence in your view - but that could depend on camera being used. Next up is OB - I think mansions/gardens on the hedges as Paul suggested is reasonable. I'm reluctant to add OB on the beach.. Players can declare unplayable, or risk of trying to get back up.. Quite sure it is marked with lateral hazard along the coast, which you can play from if you want in real life..

Beta is published - name is PBGL Beta. I dare anyone to play this on very fast and very firm - and I'm pretty happy if someone do that on the Friday pins (pinset 2) - and give spesific feedback on the 14th. Any feedback is appriciated. Some questions that I want to get answered: I tried planting the rock surface down by the 18th tee and the 7th green. I could not get it to look good and correct. Do it look okay as it is? 13th green: bunker on the left side or not? Any details that I've missed? Is there some glitches that I have missed? Down by the 10th green: The gorge between the hole and the house on the other side and up, have quite heavy bushes. I have postponed planting this area, since it is not well seen in game as far as I can tell - so I wanted to save some plantmeter. Do you feel that this area needs planting? Doing it now, come catch the twitch here www.twitch.tv/artvandelaywasinthepool

Notes from play thru on pin set 2 using very fast very firm green settings(BTW you can always go to my twitch page and look up this video in the next couple of weeks if you want to see the play thru): #2 tee - vegetation on right side seems too close and big. #14 pin - only time I got it close to the pin is when I hit the pin. When I did that I tapped my putt to just miss and it got maybe a foot from the hole then it was gone to the apron in front. IMO that pin is a no go. #18 - the tree in the fairway...are the branches supposed to be touching the turf? Overall its a wow, except for those things. My hat is off to all designers, but you andersnm are a rising star IMO. Thanks for letting us get the sneak peak.

I am indeed considering moving that pin a bit. Will have a look at the tree on 18th, but I am pretty certain the vegetation on 2nd is spot on 😊 Edit: didn’t see you played pin 2, so that is good. Will watch the video after sleep tomorrow (working night).

Anders, I just finished playing PBGL. I have never played a nicer version of PB. I forgot to set the wind to high. The default for my round was low. Every time I stepped on a tee box I kept saying "WOW". I got so caught up in the visuals I forgot what I was supposed to check, sorry. How did you add the texture on the inside of the bunker lip? That looked awesome!

I just played a round on my favorite golf course. I used high winds(wasn't feeling the very high lol) Very Fast, Very Firm and Very Firm. I was having a pretty good round USE style. I got to the 14th putting for a birdie and this happened lol. I tried to chip up twice and the ball came right back to me. I finally flopped up there and made triple. The wheels came off after that lol. I'm not sure which other 2 ways to vote but I'm not thinking its hard but fair. lol

It will either way be hard on very fast and firm on a more reasonable location.

The pin has been moved And from my testing, it is now much better. Very close to publishing the course now. I only need to finish the wall on the 18th where I have left a little bit. So expect publish tomorrow. I also adjusted the lighting a little bit, to avoid shadows on greens - so that default lighting is no shadows - but still not noon which is also not popular. I will publish two versions of the course - a member and tour version. The tour version will have 2nd hole as par 4, stands, tents, crowds etc.

Member-version published as "Pebble Beach Golf Links".
I am going to spend some time looking up pictures from the US Open to get planting of tour-objects and stands etc realistic. Not going to take too long. Tour version will be named "Pebble Beach GL (Tour)".
