The horrific thing is that it doesn’t seem to matter what he does, there’s no oversight and no consequences. They’re not in danger of becoming a dictatorship, it’s already happened. Let’s see if they realise when they (maybe) get to vote.
At this point it doesn’t matter what the media reports, which is why he’s treating them like dirt. I can’t believe the media are giving him the oxygen to kill them by televising his daily rally/updates instead of summarising them and reporting the facts.

Also - if I wasn’t already banned from TGCForums, I would definitely be now with the CoronaVirus thread. I’m still saying Paul is a friend because we haven’t spoken in months, but I’d have butted heads pretty hard with him over there. He always assumes a position of authority with little education in the subject and hearsay.

I've got into the same sort of position you often did, where all I'm really doing is defending myself, responding to people who have come at me, but because I'm typing loads of comments, I get treated like the "bad guy." (I haven't gone to the lengths you sometimes have tho  ) Virt called me out for no reason, unprovoked, I defended myself, he kept coming back at me, and I got the blame for not dropping it. I respect what you're saying about FRSTDWN, but I just think he's a complete dick. It's not just his opinions I can't stand, he's a terrible debater, forgets things, ignores things, and like you say tries to speak authoritatively, but really has very little to say. |

I think when you spot a wrong thing, you can go a bit black and white with it. I think we know each other well enough by now that I can say that. And honestly I have a similar issue! I think you're right that there are little cliques in that place, but I don't think it's as deliberate as you maybe think. But yeah, you were right about that selection thing, and they did "gang up" on you about it. But after the first 2-3 comments, it stops really mattering who's right, doesn't it. Anyway, in that argument yesterday with those two, not a single thing was said about the other 2 being off topic and keeping the argument going, (for a LONG time!) and I was singled out a few times for "why didn't you stop?" Why should I stop if someone's talking shit about me?! |

He was right when he said he could shoot someone and not lose supporters - his supporters are proving that’s true even when it’s thousands of deaths that could have been avoided with adequate people in charge.

It’s interesting to me that the people who want the lockdowns lifted and are happy to sacrifice the old talk about ‘freedom’.
It’s the freedom those old people fought for when they were young and were asked to sacrifice for the old. Now they’re old they’re expected to sacrifice for the young?? Fuck that.
People are being asked to do almost nothing to contribute. They aren’t being asked to go to a foreign country to fight in a war because their country asked it of them. These people are weak. They don’t understand hardship.
Also, what ‘freedom’ does America have that we don’t have in Australia, or in Canada, or even in the UK where you have a tyrannical queen lol.
The republicans are playing to the dumb, and it’s working.
