Yep, it wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t zigzagged up most holes making a 400m hole into a 600m walk.
You can carry the green on one in the first 3 rounds for sure, pretty sure it would have carried in round 4 if I hadn’t used a bloody 4w.
Also, in R4 on the par 3 (5th or 6th) - take the safe option long, the maybe club is a no lol.
Rooting for you mate, wouldn’t mind finishing 5th on XB, I’ve had a decent run lately. We’re all playing against the course, it beat me up pretty bad - take that bitch down for me ✊🏻

Question for the group.
If you are playing with a "turn-based" ghost, and John (The Announcer) states that the ghost is going with a fade shot here, would it be safe to assume that the loft box is being employed?
I have played 2 rounds with a certain ghost, and I am very skeptical of some stuff.

Slow start, something like -1 after 10 or 11. Holed out on 18 for a 2 and ended up -8. Rd 2 was -5 so -13 at halfway. Half dozen shots behind the leader. 5-10 footers were woeful. I think I missed a 4 footer as well. Might return in a day or 2 and see if my eyes can resolve the breaks. Cheers

Played out of my mind in R3. Carded a -8, which was 2 shots better than marcoballistic and 6 shots better than @sirwade ! (Emphasis mine.) SirWade kicked my butt in R1, posting a -9 to my -4, so I consider things all square between us now. (We'll just ignore R2 out of respect for the dead.) Unfortunately, neither one of us is going to catch marcoballistic , who apparently has turned on the electromagnetic ball attractors at the holes for his approaches and putts. Bastard keeps turning them off, though, before I get to take my shot.

I'm not 100% sure he ONLY says it when loft box is used, but surely he wouldn't otherwise? If you would like, only if you feel comfortable, could you PM me or Paul with more details? And also play their ghost again, if you feel so inclined, and see if anything else shows up...

I’ve only played with a ghost in this game maybe twice ever, and I do recall it showing the wrong club for them I think....but for John to call a fade without it being done seems very questionable. Interested in what others who play with ghosts regularly have to say. Ive had him muted for a while, but I know I’ve never once heard John say that when I wasn’t actually doing it. He definitely wouldn’t say it for a fast or slow downswing that’s for sure.

It shows the club they "should" use, based purely on distance, like it sets up the user. But commentary says the club they actually used, if they changed it, not the default club...

Aaaaaaah that makes sense!

When I joined this Society a couple of weeks ago, I had my doubts whether I would enjoy playing here. Although I kind of like playing without any aids, and in general have improved a little, I think I am going to drop out for the same reason that I have left other types of Societies: the disparity between players. On TGCTours, Dirtbags, 24K Gold, at least there is some attempt to flight players (in the case of TGCTours) or play in ABCD teams to even things out. I do realize that would be difficult to do here due to the fewer players. I wonder what I am playing for when I see guys shooting scores that I would have trouble matching WITH aids, let alone without. I do not begrudge any of the real good players anything, but it does take the fun out of it for me.
So I will walk off into the sunset, and I do wish you all the best.

What I would say is that after you have played 3 (or it might be 5) Paul (hammersman) puts you into a handicap leaderboard, where your score is matched with your "expected" performance according to your handicap. A lot of people judge themselves based off that. I'd also say although I score better than you, I have as much chance of winning (or even top 5 probably) as you do! What happens here is people tend to find rivalries and play ghosts with people they are close to in scoring. But it sounds as though your mind is made up. Thanks for giving us a go and take care

Many people have rivals that they try to beat and it bring alot of fun into the game. We also have a handicap leaderboard that anyone here could top each week which is unique to any society and tour I believe . For myself it's mainly about the sim experience and trying to better my game and beat my goals. And there is the task of beating my select rivals each week.

Also I am as much interested hearing about the guys at the lower end of the leaderboard rounds as the rest. It is about bettering your game and anyone here would be willing to give tips and encouragement to help lower your handicap and improve your game.

jeff and I just had a very intense live final round at Himmerland! I started R4 off 5 shots behind Sir Putt-a-Lot. I closed the gap to just one shot with a few holes to play. A bogey on #16 pushed me back to 2 shots behind Jeff. I birdied the 18th and Jeff Bogeyed but still managed to hold me off for a 1 shot victory.

you can compete with me!! You can't be any worse than I am, usually I'm at the very bottom. I'd love to have more people that were around my skill level, or flight, but in order to do have that, people can't leave, you have to stay and stick it out!
I do struggle a lot with seeing other scores that I can't even compete with with the aids on, like you. When I play, depending on my mood, a lot of times I dont' even look at the other scores mid round. But the reason I choose to stay here is pretty much what Paul alluded to. I can't find a league out there where disparity is not solved for the lower end. but what I can and did find here is a league that actually cares about the lower end, and offers support and makes you feel like part of the group, regardless of your score.
I just go out every week, and have fun with the courses, try to hit my handicap or less each match, and try to beat artvandelay
