Scrappy first round. Part "bad luck" (4 lip outs!) Part bad putting and a couple of other mistakes. Managed to salvage it and get to -1.
REALLY happy with my bogie free -8 second round. Got to experience what it must be like to be booze on the front 9, with a -5, making all my really tricky 10-15ft hard breakers. Then went cold for a while, but finished with 3 birdies in the last 4 holes (helped by the two par 5s in a row on 17 and 18.)
The greens are tough! And the roll out on long irons is outrageous! Hit a 1 iron 300yds! Pitched just in front of the really big green and just trundled all the way across it and into the bunker!
Booze showing his putting ability with a -10 first round which, on those greens, is an outstanding score.
If I didn't know this course, I would say it was really nice but, having seen a great video of some play on it, I find the colours and atmosphere disappointing. Way too green and lush. Personally feel the theme was the wrong choice.

For some reason I really struggled on this course this time around. I hit some really nice approach shots only to watch them roll across the green and down into a bunker lol. I shot +3 overall I think. I know it was over par lol.

The roll out on the greens for anything less than a 7i were bonkers! Even the short irons had a few yards!

I was helplessly watching my ball roll everywhere. lol Btw, Ben was kind enough to approve Mauna Kea for me for TGC Tours and remove Pakalolo Reef! He really made my day!  |

Annoyingly, I've had to send my laptop away for repairs.
I may start writing down the schedule on a notepad (old-school!) But could probably wait till the laptop comes back.
People need more time to contribute their opinions anyway 👍

As soon as 2k21 comes out I will try to figure out how to port the course over. I will probably have El Camaleon done by then and port that one as well. |
