Round 1 at Mill Ride GC, Berkshire, UK (L). Another outstanding job by paddyjk19 ! Beautiful course and I enjoyed every hole. Such detail! I am really having a difficult time deciding between Master and Pro difficulty. I need to pick on or the other. Going back and forth is tough.

Teed off last night after my TST rounds and hit a really nice -9....then called it quits. Re-start this afternoon and no warm up meant I was pretty inconsistent. -2 in Rd2 with an eagle and 6 birds....3 in the water and a couple of 3 putts....all over the place. My follow up -5 and -3 weren't too much better on a pretty short course....tempo wasn't happening so plenty out of the rough and yes, a couple more in the water on those tricky blind tee shots. -19 total and good luck everyone.

The new patch has made changes again to the swing difficulty: Red misses have now less distance penalty. There is still a distance penalty, but much less severe. And most important is the distance penalty on partial short game shots are now much much better. I also notice more left/right miss on tempo and swing plane - which I encountered in the second round on Mill Ride with some waterballs. The changes are so that I think it is fun to play on Master on the courses we now have selected. For the real Tour simulation I still find Pro to be good, so I think we have made the right choice regardless of the last changes to have Pro and Master Tour. I did some testing with splash from grass in the chipping practice, and while I think rough roll out on all shots are better than it was, the shots still are too predictable in my opinion to loose up on the restriction on splash shots. For this week, the changes are such that for those that have finished the rounds before the patch, it is a minor drawback to those playing later - but we can't change that. But with this change, I reckon I will play Master Tour as well.

I finished up the tournament. I couldn't do anything in the 2nd round. Played much better in R3 and R4. Finished at -21.

Round 1 ball striking was excellent, medium putting 33% is a badly as I have putted on this game from that range with a missed 5 footer for birdie on 15 and a 4 foot par putt on 18. The long putting was good though at 22%. Round 2 a little bit of a grind in the wind, since this patch it does seem like there is more side spin on grey box tempo.

Calibrated after round 2....this is round 3. That's enough of the Masters experience for me.
Thru 3 rds and a DNF

Calibrated after round 2....this is round 3. That's enough of the Masters experience for me. Thru 3 rds and a DNF It seems to be a frustrating experience on master difficulty on Xbox. As you were on PS4 before Shawn you have experience of the two platforms. In my experience I find both Xbox One and Series X controllers wildly inconsistent for tempo and I have used Xbox controllers on TGC games for years. Not till I recently changed to a PS4 controller did I find I actually have quite a good consistent tempo on this game.

My scores for The Ascot Cup. Played some very nice stuff there. The last round could have been something very special, I put one in the water for a double bogey on one par 3, and only a par 5 on the last. Still happy with the score though.
