Tbh I have only tried a few clubs in the game. The TM wedges which are 83 LW and 96 SW I have had from the start. I did change to the purple TM 4 to 9 irons recently as I actually found I hit them just as well as the silver TM. I have also always hit the Callaway 3 wood 248 yard from the start as I hit it well and a 230 yard 5 wood. I have tried a few drivers recently because my tempo was a bit off with them. I haven't tried Pro much at all in this game but if it is really easy to hit the fairway off the tee I would grow bored of that level pretty quickly. I found TGC 2019's driving way too easy and a bit automatic. I think it fair to say that Pro difficulty with purple clubs are the same as Master difficulty in TGC 2019 on the long game. The fact that the putting distance control and stick sensitivity is easier than master I will say now that I don't want to play pro. Putting is my favourite part of the game for me, it is immensely rewarding holing good putts. What I will do is switch to the TM purple wedges to complete my set and switch to a purple driver. I can hit the 9 to 4 purple irons well so why not the wedges.I will give the short game some practice also with these wedges. As you are my big rival, I can't be having any advantages over you now can I 😉

After reading hammers1man and andersnm posts about Purple Clubs and Master difficulty. I decided to give it a try. I changed to Bridgestone all Purple clubs. I used the same course/conditions as posted earlier in this thread. I have to say I was shocked. I shot a (-4). This is the same score I shot with TM Purple Clubs and Pro Difficulty. Nothing felt automatic. So if you guys are serious about playing this way then I will probably join you.

I just played this set up I had absolutely no probs with the purple wedges, I am suprised how well I hit the mizuno 65 yard partial pitch. I was worried that the short pitches would be too difficult but I holed a pitch from 11 yards and also a chip in with the gap wedge. Bunker splash shots no problems got up and down from a 12 yard bunker shot on the 18th. Harder to hit the tempo box but not too punishing if you don't for splash, bunker shots are much better as they felt automatic with my previous LW and SW. I will stick with this set, mostly TM's but Mizuno SW and LW. Very similar to my own clubs as I have a Mizuno 60 degree.

Despite myself and andersnm tending to view things differently, I'm in the process of trying out the purple clubs to at least view the argument from the other side, I've bought those TM irons that I've seen colly and hammers1man using and my gosh! they are so easy to hit! I wish I'd tried them sooner - the grey area is quite large but the 3 wood I've selected from Titleist has a tiny grey area compared to the irons and my Mizuno driver. I've got the black Callaway wedge on the go, surprisingly I'm not struggling with pitches or bunker splash and chip BUT they are not very good on full swing which for me is a bit of a let down, I'm hitting my 6 iron on the green more often than I'm hitting my wedges on the green which is super unrealistic! I'm softer on the purple headed warriors now but I have some concerns with the wedges - I'd be happy to go purple with everything apart from the wedges like colly said earlier as I feel a full swing from 100 yards should be a birdie chance, not a relief to hit the green. I'm also going to do some side by side assessments like @sirwade to see what pro is like etc.

I’ve played this set up before so they’re back in the bag 👍

I like the full set of purples and will continue to use them. But I do not want us to enforce rules that everyone should use them. The game on master is very difficult, I don't want to drive members away by forcing them to hit unforgiving clubs. Yes it is not realistic mixing club distances but there are a lot of people really struggling with tempo. I personally won't play pro as I don't think it is realistic. I don't look at scores I look at the immersion and I find that playing purple clubs on master difficulty gives me immersion. The driving on pro is way too easy with purple clubs for me.

Shot a worse score on Pro which is weird.... maybe the servers were screwed as I was all over the place!

Shot a worse score on Pro which is weird.... maybe the servers were screwed as I was all over the place! For me, the score is very much tied to how well I do with the putter. However, I get closer proximity to the hole on Pro diffulty compared to Master, so usualy it means better score - but if I am terrible with the putter, that may not be the case.

Could you explain to me how the servers being screwed effect tempo, I do not find any difference being online or offline in this game. Why on earth would HB tie in the swing to their servers, it makes no sense. Do they effect your framerates?, I don't see it from my end. I read about the server all the time being the cause. I make sure my framerates are 70 FPS to 100 with with my VRR monitor. My bad tempo is on me, I have found that if I calibrate I hit the ball much better as I try to hit the same shot 10 times in calibration.

It just wouldn't make sense to have a game that relies so much timing to be so reliant on server performance or the individual's internet quality such as ping. Also if it was servers effecting tempo. Would this not effect everyone on the same server. I did have a problem yesterday being booted from the server numerous times didn't have tempo issue though. Regarding calibration, I find if I calibrate I continue that same rythym for the round, it certainly helps me.

Put the 3-iron back in the bag.It may not be purple but it has very similar attributes to the T100 irons I’m using. It is certainly less forgiving than the TM P790’s.
