It seems that it is agreed to play San Antonio also next week, I suggest we use the same settings that Paul set for this week.

Rounds 1 and 2 complete at the Valero Texas Open Redo This version by andersnm plays tough as well but much more realistically tough. Round 1 (+2) thanks to a double bogey on 18. I stopped to feed the fish in the pond a golf ball. R2 (-3). I am (-1) at the halfway mark.

Round 1 playing with skunky (Quade the Course Builder). My score was flattering and I now have a mental job to get through, getting used to scoring in the high 80's again. Because that is my future feels like at the moment. Quade on the other hand played very well, out played me for 13 holes before something happened and he lost his edge. He chipped in, pitched in, hit short chips, long chips, short pitches, long pitches. Is was a firework display. Down below he showed off a pitch that was very difficult in several ways. And that reminds me of Francis Stewart's "I farted in a full elevator. That was wrong on so many levels".

After a fast start in round 1 my game went downhill & I turned what should have been a great round into a very average one π.This version of the course by andersnm is top notch π

My card for Round 1. I am afraid my enjoyment for this is on the wain, since the changes etc and playing the USE way. Just finding it a chore to be honest and can't wait for the round to end.

Round 2 and once again paired with then home player skunky . He was giving high fives everywhere and played well again. My round was steady with a few stumbles. Those that hurt was the back 9 par 3's. On the tough 13 I hit a well struck 3 iron to 14 feet and walked off with a 3 putt. On 16 I hit a 5 iron in the water with a one handed swing! Made what felt the same swing again and ended up 11 feet from the hole and made a bogie. One better that previous round and hoping to continue on that trajectory. It saddens me to see SimChars1968 not enjoying the game. I thought these swing changes would not affect his style of play and hoping it just was a natural slump we all have now and then. Hoping you can find some joy in the game somewhere and stick around.

Well, was hoping for a new lease of life after picking up a new mouse today. My old bog standard wireless logitech was replaced by a Deathadder v2.....in anticipation of a new PC arriving when the computer mob can get hold of a decent graphics card. Huge waiting time for graphics cards atm....2 months or so for the one I'm getting. So I'll have to stick to playing on my 8yo PC in medium graphics settings. Anyway, showed some decent form in TST tonight before heading over to USE. Better tempo all round. Less wild swings, although still have my fair share of "reds". Onto USE and it was almost back to the drawing board in Rd1....+6 at one stage, then snagged a couple of late birdies for a +4. Was -4 in Rd2 before the old form crept back. Chipped really well though to save my round with a -2. Rd3 was punctuated by a couple of shocker holes on the front 9 but somehow posted a +2. Rd4....bogey free -5. Didn't think I'd be saying that. Best I putted this tourney. A few really huge par saves and good tempo and good chipping. I think better course management as well on tight pins. -1 overall. Tough tough tourney. Good luck all.

Round 3 was certainly moving day for me.Unfortunately it was backwards π Never felt comfortable & putted very poorly. In the end I was happy to salvage something with the 2 birdies to finish.@sirwade your score for the week is looking extremely competitive π

When I saw you post a -4 in the second round, I knew I was in trouble. You still have a 4th round to make up some ground. I'm trying to buy off your caddie lol. πΊπΊπΊπ€£

Round 3 and playing with Tuffguts . Caught him on his off day and passed him on the leaderboard. Pretty sure I will not be able to hold that in the last round. I finally got under par, but the bogie on 18 after a good drive feels bitter. I really enjoy this course though. Those PS guys running away in front I can also forget. Well played over there.

Had a horror start on our second attempt at San Antonio, red slowed one into the pond on 3 to be +4 after only three holes, fought back with everything I have to be +3 at the halfway. Much prefer this version for playability over the official one although the official one the environment is well crafted.
I see @pakalolo77 has found something of late! hopefully he will let us know the secret to playing under par soon! Well played sir!
