Welcome to California! That's all I have to say since I don't have the conditions on a nice picture. Keep the ball below the pin is a good tip though.

Round 1 and teeing off with skunky again. It's going to be interesting to see how we all play in the new swing era. Well, Quade did not have any problems. Hit a lot of partial swings and that is impressive to me, since I don't dare (on full swings that is). He holed putts from everywhere and was unlucky to stumble a little coming in. What happened to me, I don't know. I thought it was very tough out there and still came in with a 66. Holing a lot of 10 footers was key to that. The only bogie came after a misjudged chip that came back to my feet. But quite a few pitch and one-putt to my surprise.

What a 1st round.....11 birds and dropped 6 shots for a -5. 2 pars for the rounds. 2 chip ins. Some good putts. Might be worth ghosting this round for some entertainment value. Don't bother with the rest....ended up raging through my last round and a half and was double figures over par. Can't grasp the miss-pitches and how they fall so far short with a slight miss hit. Lip outs a-plenty....yeah don't ghost my last 2 rounds particularly....very embarrassing.

I ran into a couple of USE club members on the driving range. We decided to tee it up together for Round 1 on the beautiful Cypress Point Club. All three of us were playing great during the round. I think My Caddie was trying to sabotage my round. He was still a little upset from his match play loss earlier in the day . I was at -7 but clipped a tree branch on the approach to 18. It left me short of the green and I bogeyed the hole.

Due to time constraints I played round 2 solo. I had a hot start to the round. When I made the turn I hit a brick wall. Damn Caddie ! I just couldn't keep the momentum going on the back 9 and finished +1 for the round. I'm at -5 at the halfway mark.

Round 2 on this wonderful course. Playing with Tuffguts today. He was a little sloppy here and there, struggled as many of us do with the pitch in the new swing era. I made a bogie the same way as yesterday, a chip that came back to my feet. On another hole this time. Other than that, pretty uneventful.

Solid tee to green in round 1 other than tee shot on the dreaded 16th.I really do need to stop storing my putter in the freezer overnight though 🥶.Cypress point is a real beauty, look forward to rest of week 😁

Yeah thanks for that....just leave Rd's 3 and 4 in the "never to opened" basket please.

Oh and anyone curious as to my new avatar. Sunset over the ocean in Broome WA. Took that one at the end of a 3 hour sunset cruise in Roebuck Bay....looking for "Snubfin Dolphins". We saw heaps along with an inquisitive Bottlenose Dolphin, turtles, sea snakes, assorted fish. Throw in a few drinkies and it was a perfect late afternoon adventure, followed by the famous "Stairway to Heaven" sunset. Cheers

First Round in at Cypress Point. Putter definitely helped saved a shot or three. Lots of birdie opportunites were on the edge. Pleased with how I drove the ball (can always be better ). One too many mistakes on distance control with the wedges led to the four bogeys on the card. Highlight of the round was a 33 footer up the hill for birdie on the 14th. To be in red numbers after one, I'll take it. Onto the next... 😎

Second Round in after a quick round at Spyglass. It may just be in my head. But I think I'm going to start playing my rounds around this time. Much better tempo except for a few smothered shots. I really like these wedges. Hit many of them stiff. Lucky as they were just the right distance or a partial downwind. Should've had the downhill 6 footer on the par 5 10th. Hit it thru the break and glad I made the 18 foot comeback putt. That 16th hole is a tough one into the wind. HB logic kept that wayward shot right from heading into the Pacific. Another bogey on the 17th. Bounced back with a partial SW up the hill on the last. Could've been a low one. Again I'll take that and hopefully can keep the momentum going. At least closed the gap to PC Leader Mike. -7 at the halfway mark.

Round 3 and played on my own. Felt like the last man making the cut in an odd man field. A little slicker greens and I really tried to stay below the hole. The 2 bogies came from above the hole. Other than that, very happy with a 67 and giving @pakalolo77 something to aim at.

Haven't managed to complete my rounds in the last few tournaments unfortunately. Been tinkering a bit with different clubs also. My card for rounds 1 and 3, quite steady, I found the second round quite a struggle shooting +3.

Played round 2 in the company of nonusehki. Whilst he didn’t have his ‘A’ game tee to green,he certainly showed me how to rattle those mid range putts in which is easily the worst part of my game.Anyway quite happy to be 7 under through 36 holes 👍
