Finished R1 in +3, Was doing well until the 15th. There I fell back into my old habit of putting too aggressively. I wanted to make birdie there, but ended up 4 putting. Learned the lesson again the hard way that with these settings I should putt defensively. Great course and had fun playing, and +3 is already way better than my last rounds here.

R1 complete. What a beautiful rendition of the Turnberry Ailsa course! I have good news and bad news. The good news is I had 6 birdies in the round. The bad news is I also had 6 bogeys during the round. I'm even par after R1. π

R2 I got it to -3 then a triple bogey set me back to even par. Bogeyed one more hole and finish the round and tournament at +1.

Linksland R1 at Turnberry. The driver seems to be my nemesis this season. Here the FIR was not very good at all. Think it was the afternoon coffee and caffeine running through the golfing thumbs . Felt like it was right, left, right the whole round. Still somehow managed to score and play the right shots. Wedge game saved me. -7 after Round 1.

Round 1 on this stunner of a course. Started with 3 straight 3 putts. A deep breath and saying "patience" to myself a couple of hundred times helped. Holed an 11 foot eagle putt on the 5th and putted better from there. Knocked in a 24 footer on the last to get down to E. Odd round for me, I think I hit 16 greens and never had a chip. paddyjk19 hit some fantastic shots here and there, I was more a middle-of-the-green guy today.

Finished R2 in +10 for a total of +13. What a brutal course. Especially when your long game is off like mine was today. Luckily my putting was ok, otherwise it would have been even worse.

I really like this course and it suits me well. Played at times very well, with some very good putting. Disregard the four putt I had from 5 feet on one hole - my thumb slipped a few times in a row there.

We both played some good golf & some dodgy golf. The key for me was playing the par 5βs well.Eddie lost shots on these.3 stabbing 18 for bogey left a sour taste but a few π»π»π» wil sort that out π
