Round 4 and playing with our own 'Grip it and Rip it' artvandelay . First of all, a bogey free 66 in those winds... Hat off, one of the best rounds I've seen in USE. Somehow I was able to match stroke for stroke for the first 8 holes, then it got tough turning home into the wind. I saw on the leaderboard he finished on -2 and I had a 1 shot lead after the 13th. It was getting shaky. On the 15th I had a 10 footer and Art a 9 footer for birdie. I felt this was a must hole putt. I made it and Art missed it. Teeing off at the 18th 2 shots ahead felt good. Missed the green, a long pitch to 6 feet and that for tying Tuffguts . It horseshoed out, but I fought off my main rival and that's what counts. Again, great last round, artvandelay !

Great play this week, sounds like a tight match there 👏

Rust. Yes. I should have played a warm up round - but I thought I just should warm up on the range and hit the links.. so - disregard my first round, and it is solid good golf. Very pleased with my last round. Sorry Paul - but I did not encounter any bad hole locations. Hard? Yes, but the ball stayed inside 4 feet of the hole so I did not see any problem with them.

Round 2:Was plodding along until I made the mistake of going long on number 8,left myself with 96ft ,4ft uphill putt 🤣🤣.Not sure what happened on the back 9 but I seemed to enter another some kind of other worldly zone.Maybe it was the bottle of Shiraz I cracked open 🍷🍷😉.Longest putt I needed to hole for birdie was 6ft.Left a 11 footer in the heart but short on number 11,13 footer shaved the hole on number 17 .Worst approach on the back 9 was into 18 ,hit pw to 27 ft & even scared the hole with that putt 😁.I’ve no doubt normal service will be resumed in round 3 👍

Apart from pins 2 hole 2 I haven't either, very nearly snapped the putter in 2

I can feel your pain Paul. That is hard punishment for small mistake. But thats how it is sometimes. I got a similar result on Wade's Golden Horseshoe, though it was a bit longer - you can't miss to the side on such hole locations, or you need to aim so much to the side to be safe and not roll down the hill. This is a very hard pin - I got par on this hole that round, but I hit the right side bunker from tee.

I do have the feeling that pin is unplayable from above that hole, just looking at the green slope from the return pitch I had the slope from the above pin to the front of the green is way too severe. These are 144 greens also.

It is very hard to test pins as I think you need the option to place the ball everywhere on the green . Near impossible from practice rounds, this is a great course and we have encountered one bad pin imo. Doesn't happen very often but I like to give a heads up to those who have yet to tee off.

I think pins are very important especially for realism and not to be unfair and unrealistic. Your pins are good Anders, also I think it is great for designers to get feedback on how their pins play.

My cards for Rounds 3 and 4. Pretty solid effort in the third round. Perfect start and front 9 in round 4, then the back 9 began!! Anybody not finished yet, good luck coming home in Round 4, if you make it!

Are the point standings for this season? Up to week 20, was going to get up to date to post Open Championship but need to get my 2 Scottish Open rounds in. Ignore the standings on this leaderboard, Mark never finished the coding for this.
