Very nice course. The 1st hole made me think “Par 5, drive and a wedge? I’m going to crush this one”. No, I didn’t think so, haha. And the green made sure I was happy with a par. Have you made something to the heavy rough? I have never had so thick rough every time. Like the US Open. Had to pitch with a SW from 18 yds. And the steep edges off the greens had me pitching from under 10 yds a couple of times. I like it when I have to think about my shots. Played from the back tees, made sure of that, haha. Thanks for giving it a play Wimi! I think the different textures (colors) determine the rough thickness but I'm not 100% sure. I didn't do anything different other than the texture change.

Played the round, Legend difficulty pin 3 Wade. First off: great job! Very good planting and feel. I can see you are getting better and better A few things I noticed though: On the island 16th green - and perhaps some other parts in that area - I would have painted with heavy rough on the entire island and some parts where you see they have mowed. This is my preference, as you would not have those bare patches. This is a very minor thing though Second - I encountered this hole location which is not good - this is too close to the edge off the green. The hole is less than a yard off the edge off the green. My rule of thumb, is to have at least 3 yards - and you will also see this on the PGA hole locations as well.

Really like the course Wade, didn't really concentrate on how it plays as I was too busy taking screenshots. Gallery up soon.

I tried to cover the bare areas on all the greens that had retaining walls. I tried a heavy rough brush and a heavy rough spline. For some reason the brush wouldn't cover it and they all have a heavy rough spline around them. Maybe I did it wrong but it just wouldn't hide it. You are correct about the 3 yards. I don't know how I missed the pin location. I usually try to have it a least 3 yds. from the edge.

I don't know how I missed the pin location. I usually try to have it a least 3 yds. from the edge. I use spline on most my textures. You can choose path width and fill the spline to make sure it covers all. I usualy leave the path width as it is, and draw the spline around the area I want - and then I fill the spline. For pine needles, I do use brushes or spline .. round brush when there is just a circle of pine needles around a single tree - spline when there is an area. I used brushes earlier, but I find it easier to use the measure tool and mark where I want the texture (I check with google earth to get the measures correct), then I spline the textures. For the island, I would just put a spline on the edges of the island and fill the spline.

Well due to my publishing name blunder my frustration was warranted. Everyone is playing the unfinished version. As of this morning it has 275 plays and 4.5 star rating. I posted on the 2k forums not to play that version and to play the (L) version. However people play the one that has the most plays and don't look at posts. My finished (L) version has only 20 plays. This is a major reason why HB/2K should let designers delete versions of their course. Even if HB/2K had to approve the deletion it would really help clean things up.

Yes - it would be good to be able to delete courses. However, I don't care what others play - so if they don't play the best version, their loss.

I just noticed that you added Golden Horseshoe to the schedule for week 43! Thank you . I have already fixed pin #3 on hole #16. I also doubled checked all of the other pins. I will go thru the course again and republish it as Golden Horseshoe GC a couple of weeks prior to the tournament.

I finished making adjustments on the course. I fixed Pin #3 on hole 16. Added some more grass, bushes, trees etc. I spent enough time on the retaining walls to design another course. The land around the retaining walls were too sloped to make it look nice. Playing around with the double water trick made it look better. But then the water was so clear I could see all the dirt/mud piled up on the retaining walls below the water line. When I tried to smooth it out, the ground above got messed up lol. I even changed the water level to see if that would help. In the end I went with the IRL water level on the retaining walls, single water and tried to smooth the ground as best I could. I decided to publish the course, since I spent all week refreshing it and my computer is not sounding to good at the moment. I changed the name for this publish to Golden Horseshoe G.C.

Yes, double water makes the ground texture change. This is the tricky part if you want the darker water - you may need to sculpt the water deeper, or you may put down a different texture. I think Han has put down some houses beneath the water so the roof of the house is above the ground, so it looks darker. Just a trick to get it to look darker and better.

Fantastic course Wade! Glad to see you doing Lidar courses. Here's my playthrough on your course. Thanks Will! I enjoyed watching the playthrough. Your swing is so smooth and straight lol. You have your game dialed in. Beautiful eagles on #2 and #6. You had a great birdie streak on the back nine. I'm not sure what happened on your approach shot to #18. You might have been able to birdie out. You only hit one bad drive, on #17. But you hit it into the bank and it rolled back into the fairway. I see your club member dues are paid up lol. I'm glad we can't play match play anymore, you would destroy me lol. Thanks for giving my course a play! I noticed you move the dotted distance line in the overhead view to the edge of the greens on approach shots. Are you just checking for carry distance?

Always enjoy your courses 👍 Definitely not a robot and have my misses for sure! I use the Matthew Wolff waggle to try and keep the swing tempo in sync lol. Yeah I use the overhead view to get distances for carry. Besides playing partials, I particularly like flighting the ball down depending on wind more than anything. Just need to add in the amount of roll out on the club.
