Hole #18 at Wentworth Golf ClubUNRIVALLED EXCELLENCE WELCOME TO WENTWORTH Whether the rhododendrons are in bloom along the sweeping driveway or the Virginia creeper is dressing the castellated Clubhouse in shades of crimson and red, a timeless experience awaits your arrival at Wentworth, where you can't help but feel at home. In 1805, ‘Wentworths' was a private residence for the extended family of the Duke of Wellington, but it was the visionary George Tarrant, who established the house and grounds as the home of Wentworth Club in 1922. BIRTHPLACE OF THE RYDER CUP Since the first shot was played at the historic match in 1926 recognized as the precursor to the Ryder Cup, Wentworth’s three courses have each played host to some of the world's most prestigious trophies; including The Daks Tournament, British Masters, Women’s British Open, The Canada Cup, The World Match Play and of course, the highly anticipated BMW PGA Championships.

Knocked 'em all out today for -22. Rd1 -9 ; 2 eagles on back 9. Rd2 -2 ; Couldn't get much going and a few rushed silly mistakes. Rd3 -8 ; Had a wedge hole out on one of the par 4's. Eagle birdie finish I think. Rd4 -3 ; Started beautifully but stupid errors on back 9. Had 8 birds and 5 bogies. Cheers

Could just not get going. Probably didn't help to warm up on 171 greens either. Read almost every putt slightly wrong as well. Kept telling myself to have patience and finished with 3 birdies. Saw 2 run away on the leaderboard, @pakalolo77 and Tuffguts with excellent rounds. And what a finish by the Aussie! (See post before)

Round 2 and was doing just fine until 13 and BLAM blocked my drive into the left trees, hit many many MANY more trees along the way to that lovely score.

Round 2 was like round 1, not much happened until the last 3 holes. I followed rival artvandelay on leaderboard and saw him drop a shot at 16 where I birdied again, I was 1 shot ahead. Then I asked myself "Do I really want to be in front going in to the last 36 holes?". The answer was no and I 3 putted the 17th and hit a SW in the creek and made a double for a 74. Job done!

Driving was good in round 1 but approach play was poor.

Approach play much better in 2nd round & managed to convert a few.Had one loose drive down 18 which resulted in a pitch out side ways from the trees down the right, then had to lay up & pitch on,missed the par putt.9 under through 36 👍

Congrats, artvandelay , your spell on me worked. After a 4 putt from 10 feet, I couldn't swing the clubs at all. Lost everything to push fade/slice, except when I aimed to the left, then I hit it straight. Back to shooting in the 80s, but I will be back! Edit: I went to the driving range after, switched on Shot Feedback for the first time since joining this wonderful society, and realised I’m the Eamonn Darcy/Jim Furyk of us. I can live with that.

My card for Round 2 and wow! My best round since joining USE. Tried to be greedy on the last and got wet but still managed to pitch and putt for par.

Round 3 and talk about being brought back to earth with a bump!! Was a tougher set-up for this round with some very tricky pins. Even so it was rather scruffy. Somehow went over the back of the 7th short-siding myself, and resulting chip rolls past the hole and down the tier leading to a double. In the rough with my first and second shots on 13, my third was a lovely pitch shot, slams into the flag-stick on the full throwing the ball back towards me back down the fairway. Somehow saved a par on 18 after my tee shot went in the trees. As I say, was a tough set-up, but didn't play particularly well either. Glad to escape with a 75!
