Week 17: BMW PGA Championship

Not much time this week with other RL things going on. Four consecutive rounds earlier in the week. Struggled in the 2nd and 3rd round in hitting the ball solid. Flare right fades/slices came back. Scrambled quite a lot. Lucky to avoid a few hazards this week. -18 to finish.

I did not play well on Wentworth. +1 total after some mediocre rounds. Water on the 18th both first and second round - and overall just average play with too many mistakes - most notably on the 12th where I kept missing my apporach left, which is not good on that hole.

I found a new swing, lost it, found it and lost it starting this 4th round. After 9 holes I switched to an older swing and it was a little better. I thought I was able to shoot a birdie free round, but failed at the 18th.

Round 3 was a real struggle,especially back 9.Slipped back 1 to 8 under after 54 holes.Excellent 4 round total from @sirwade 👏🏻.I only need a final round 64 for a tie 🤪

Rounds 3 and 4.  The Vandelay Way is pretty good at turning two iggles and two chirps in a round into a final -1 score.  And the last round was just a lost golfer trying to find his way to the bar.

Playing really well in round 1 the putter was very good, 4 under on the 18th tee. But had western super on 18, to find the creek in front of the green 3 times with poor approach and pitch shots, needed a chip in for a 9. All I can say this moment is to quote Art "onwards".

Proving to be a frustrating week, after a poor start the putter got hot to be 6 under for the next 10 holes but another poor finish and another great drive but poor approach into the creek on 18. I am 8 over for the last 5 holes after 2 rounds, frustrating as I am playing pretty well.

Very enjoyable round with AV as always who played so great golf at times. I started with my customary bogey on the first followed by a fight back to get to 4 under par for the round AGAIN!!!! The par 5 13th was the changing point with a 27 foot par putt after I made a mess of things from just off the green. A really good finish this time with a lovely putt for eagle on 17 a relif to actually hit a poor drive on 18 into the left bunker so I couldn't go for the green this time. My putting has been really good this week 35% long putts for this round and 31% long putts for 3 rounds. I am 14 under from holes 2 to 13 after 3 rounds just need to sort out the 1st and last 5 holes

Teed off round 4 with great rival davec187. Managed to actually par the 1st this round (with a chip in) but had a mini collapse with 4 straight bogies from holes 5 to 8. Really happy with the fight back ,7 under for the next 10 holes and a good feeling to finish really strongly. My putting this week was really good 100% short, 91% medium putts, 28% long putts.
Managed to pull away from Dave and Simon to steal 3rd place on the PC leaderboard
Walked this course many of times as a spectator at the PGA Championship and World Matchplay, really enjoyed playing it on 2K21.

Was playing army golf for most of the final round so was very happy to finish with a 68 & a total of 12 under for the week 😁

Alot of respect for Wade, from complaining USE is a bit too hard on the current settings to knuckling down and practicing to lowering his handicap every week. Now that has my respect,huge kudos from me and a great performance this week Sir👍
