Next up on the USE schedule brings us to The Honda Classic. There are few more classic sporting atmospheres than Philadelphia's Merion Golf Club. Championship golf and champion golfers have long been intertwined with the mystique of Merion Golf Club’s East Course. Designed by Hugh Wilson, Merion’s East Course has played host to more USGA Championships than any course in America and is home to some of its greatest moments. The site of the 2013 US Open, the place is steeped in history, tradition and an essence that takes you back to the Golden Age of Golf. After his dramatic 18-hole playoff victory over Jack Nicklaus in the 1971 U.S. Open, Lee Trevino was quoted, “I love Merion, and I don’t even know her last name.”

Off and running at Merion East, The Honda Classic. I had one of the earlier tee times! High Winds and rain along with treacherous greens make for some heart pounding golf! Putter went ice cold on me. I missed 3 birdie putts inside 6ft. (+4) in R1 and (+1) in R2. Sitting at (+5) at the halfway mark. Good Luck to all this week!
Round 1
Round 2

Got my First Round in on PC. A bit of an up and down start. Decent pitch shots kept me in this round. Misjudged the speed on some good birdies opportunities. That finishing stretch of holes is tough. Good round by Tuffguts to start in these conditions.

Will you be sticking to PC Will? if so you will have to wait 4 tournament to get your average up for PC as I just pull up the societies 18 hole score for the season. Too much work and maths to work out the average between 2 platforms.

No worries about the 18 hole score average Paul, it is too much work to deal with. We'll just add that in 4 weeks/tourneys from now. 👍

I hate that 18th hole. Seems as difficult in video game golf as it supposedly is IRL.... Would not want to stand on that tee with a one shot tournament lead. Some really stern par 3s on Merion as well....

Some really stern par 3s on Merion as well.... Merion is a really tough course especially for one that plays under 7000 yards. In the 2013 US Open the average score in each of the four rounds exceeded 74 (+4). Really love this course played a few practice rounds on it today.

Completed my rounds at Merion East. The pin placements on the last 2 rounds were diabolical to me lol. R3 (+5) and R4 (+1) Total for Tournament (+11). That averages out to +2.75 per round and on this course I will take it! Very happy with my performance on this course!
Round 3

Started +1, Even. Lots of pars this week so happy to rid my round of the doubles and triples I had at Harbour Town. Some good scrambling this week but my GIR's were inevitably too far from the hole for legit birdie chances.

That was a first round of promise and fear. After a string of bogeys and finally a birdie, felt good at +3 after 8. Then a shot in the water at the par 3 9th with a push fade 5i and a double bogey. I had to go away and have a cup of coffee and let some steam of, hehe. Pars and some bogeys coming in and a 79 first round. At Harbour Town the trees made be groan, this course make me yell at myself. And wow was the greens slow!
And at last a question. Where do I sign up for PaKaLoLo77’s pitch school? Very impressed.

I was impressed by your speed on some tough long putts. I think I finished +4 or +5.

Could have been a really good round on moving day, but had some putts stop on the lip and then the closing three holes got me again....

Second Round in and trying to catch Tuffguts at the top of the PC Leaderboard. Struck the ball really well on the opening holes. Solid approach shots led to some close birdie chances. Not able to hit the fairway in the next stretch of holes and misjudged pitch shots led to some tough par saves that just missed. Bounced back with two more birdies after the turn. Missed a close birdie chance as I didn't see the subtle break on one of the greens. Bogey on 17 and a lip out for birdie on the last sees me at -1 for the round and +3 overall heading into the Third. What could've been on a tough course.

Round 1 and nice to finally tee off with Will, also Robert for a international pairing. Some nice pitches and putts going on between us, played some scrappy holes and the swing didn't really feel good myself. Round 2 front 9 was a disaster was absolutely losing it 6 over after 9, really composed myself (I had to or it was meltdown) and played really solidly after a chip in eagle on 10 to shoot 1 under for the back 9. Really liked this course on previous games it is a bit of a grind but it has real class and a very good RCR and is even better in this game.

My card for Round 1. Dreaded OOB on the second, and after that very up and down on the front 9, very solid back 9 though.
