I thought to ask the question here:
The 2019 rehab on the south course. I am not sure what I want to change. If I am to change anything. I certainly like the new bunkers on the 13th. The changes: 1st: Right side fairway bunker moved forward. 4th: The fairway are widened by ca. 6 yards. And the fairway runs also on the left side up to the green encompasing the greenside bunker that has been totaly changed and made smaller. 6th: left side fairway bunkers gone from 5 to 4 - the two furthest from the tee are changed to one bunker. 7th: a new fairway bunker on the left side. 9th: The right fairway bunkers has been changed but not moved. The right side fairway bunker close to the green has been changed so it now cut across into the fairway so shots on the right side need to carry the bunker, more effectively stopping running shots up the fairway. Not sure if it is possible to run on the left side. 10th: the left side fairway bunker has been moved back and changed. The right side fairway bunker has been changed but not moved. 12th: the two left side fairway bunkers has been moved forward and made to one long bunker. 13th: Two new bunkers on the left side fairway. The right side bunkers has been slightly changed but not moved. 14th: tiny change to one right side greenside bunker. 15th: tiny changes to the left side greenbunker 17th: right side fairway bunker has been split into two and the fairway is moved to the left. 18th: left side fairway bunkers has been changed and there is now three bunkers in a cluster instead of two.
Most of these changes are so tiny and I can't think that it is worth the time investement to make the changes. The most significant changes imo is the 4th and the new bunkers on the 13th. Any thoughts?

Plant and finish the course as it is for that year because there’s something cool you can do when new LiDAR comes out; All you do is strip the LIDAR out on TGC Tools and then replace with the new LIDAR when it becomes available and then you just manually add sand to new bunkers etc. Hope that helps!

Yes - I have been thinking of just making it as a pre-2019 version. Cool thing about the new lidar data possibility. Good argument for just going for a pre 2019 version.

I haven't tried it yet but I've made all of my courses to the year of the Lidar and I often strip out the lidar terrain and plant the course flat as it is less laggy and much quicker and then I just re-add the terrain when it's time to do sunken trees and houses etc. if you get to the point of trying to do this just give me a shout and I'll reply with the workflow

A little video of me hacking on legend difficulty on the first 8 holes: Anders, you played really well on Legend! The course is looking fabulous! I liked the sun reflecting off the water on the 1st hole. The green on #8 looks brutal lol. Are you playing with DOF turned on?

Thanks Wade - I have played alot better than that, best so far is sub par on Himmerland Garia on Legend, though that is a much easier course. Don't think I hit one fairway on this video. I have Depth Of Field on. Still lots to do on this course - I think the finer planting near the hotels etc are going to take most time - but right now, I am planting the scrub areas, surfaces on the holes, and trees (which always takes time for me, since I want the trees to be as realistic as possible - and there has been some changes to the trees over the years - so double checking videos compared to google earth.. I have 3 videos I am using). So you should see that the hotel areas are missing a bit on the video (hedges etc). Note that the scrub planting is a lot higher than you would see in real life. If I where to plant in natural height, it would consume the object meter, and I would spend ages - and it would not be visible. So I decided to let the scrub grow quite a bit compared to real life. Most noticeable is the scrubs around the 3rd. I am going to plant OB in the scrub areas - as a ball here would be lost in real life. Also the coast is going to be OB.

As for the 8th green @sirwade - most greens on this course are challenging, but it plays great on 187 speed as I had on my video. I also have very firm greens as default right now. The 8th is not the most demanding, but pin 1 can be tough if you do it like I did and hit too hard downhill. So a picture with green grids:

Not yet Jeff. There are quite a bit more to plant and surface before a beta. Hope to do much in the coming week though, so stay tuned
