The Atlanta Athletic Club (AAC) was formed in 1898 and due to its popularity it gained 700 members in only four years. The director of the club's athletic program was John Heisman, the famous football coach for whom the Heisman Trophy is named. In 1904 the AAC bought property at East Lake to build a country club which included a golf course. Course architect Tom Bendelow was asked to lay out the course. Bobby Jones age 9 shown playing golf at his home course at East Lake. The course's first holes were built in 1906 and were initially only seven holes, then nine. In the summer of 1907, the course was expanded to 17 holes, and later that year the 18th hole was built to complete it. Also in 1907, the first significant tournament was hosted at East Lake, the Southern Amateur, won by Nelson Whitney. In 1908, Tom Bendelow opened his "No. 2" course at East Lake. In 1913, famed golf course architect Donald Ross redesigned the course at East Lake. The new plan provided for each of the nine holes to conclude at the clubhouse. Ross also redesigned the No. 2 course in 1928. A tragic fire destroyed the original clubhouse at East Lake in 1925. Following the fire, famed architect Philip Shutze, who is known for constructing the famous Swan House in Buckhead, was hired by the club to build East Lake's present day two-story Golfer Bobby Jones is said to have played his first and last games of golf at East Lake.[6] Jones won golf's Grand Slam in 1930, claiming the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Open, British Amateur and British Open titles in the same year. Jones's father, "Colonel" Robert P. Jones, served as the president of East Lake from 1937–42 and as a director for 38 years. Bobby Jones himself also served as president of East Lake on 1946–47. Other notable East Lake players around the same time were amateurs Watts Gunn, Perry Adair, Charlie Yates and Alexa Stirling Fraser many of whom were assisted by East Lake's golf professional Stewart Maiden. In 1963, East Lake hosted the 15th biennial Ryder Cup where Arnold Palmer served as the playing captain of the winning US Team.

R1 and R2 complete. Either this course is playing really tough or my game is gone lol. Sitting at Even par at the halfway mark. Warning to those yet to tee off. On the 18th hole fairway....short of the water, the right side of the fairway shows as heavy rough 67%-75%. Even though it is clearly in the fairway. This really sucks.

And Friendbomber has some longer tees on the 1st and 14th if I remember correctly compared to how they play it on the Tour Championship. These two holes are par 5 on normal play, but they play it as long par 4, but not from the back tees as friendbomber has done. The heavy rough in the 18th fairway is also known on this version. I feel a bit bad of not finishing the version I had started - but I lost all motivation in the hot early summer.

First two rounds for me was -3 and -3 and -6 halfway. First round was very solid until i three putted the last two holes. Second round also solid, but a hook on the 15th was the biggest mistake.

Round 3: -4. Solid round. Round 4: +1 in the high winds. Chip + three putt on the 11th to blame. -9 total is okay for me on this course.

If anyone are interested - I published ELGC Alpha - front nine is done with planting, and also planting on the 10th - and the rest is unfinished but playable. There was a screwup on the pins on the 10th and I have not bothered to fix it, so it is only one pin on the 10th. Else, the pins are the 2019 Tour Championship. I have also not moved the tees, so the 1st and 14th plays from the back tees.

Not sure what happened but it crashes on the 10th green,,,,it seems on xbox there are like 2 holes there ball goes in the cup and game just freezes. All i can say That course is something special from just the front nine......thought the 9th green a little severe but not knowing the course that well played it as it was....fantastic design HB in for a shock when they see this one, amazing design work the course just felt so good for the looks to the surrounds.

ELGC Alpha That might be the screwup that happened pn the 10th pins. Need to delete the hole and put it in again to get it to work. Don't get that crash on my PC though. Anyway, thanks for the compliment I might be tempted to finish it after all..

I think you should complete it......don't expect the HB version to be close to this version....

Ok look, I played a practice round a couple of days ago to re-familiarize myself with the course after not playing it since last year, all assists on and eagled the 18th to finish 2 under. I was expecting a torrid time when I teed it up tonight. So I've started -9 and -7 to be -16 at halfway point....shocked even myself First round putting was extremely good with 5 or 6 double digit putts, a 30 foot R-L swinger on 14 the highlight. 3 putted 9 my only blemish. A couple of good deliberate fast swing and 90-95% approaches worked for me so it all seemed to be going my way. Second round was solid but didn't sink as many putts. Tap in eagle on 6 and chip in birdie on 9 the highlights. Will leave the last 2 rounds for later. Tempo was solid as well I think, feedback was off but maybe 1 or 2 fasts all up. Liked the 163 greens in both rounds. Cheers

obviously I'm spending too much time in the course designer and not enough time on the course lol. I finished the season at East Lake with a score of Even par.

Here’s a copy of the goodbye email I sent the Dickheads at TGC.
Nice work on the personal attack on Leon there Jeff, super professional and well thought out response there. It’s just another example of why tiny little men with a little bit power are the most pathetic of specimens.
When we spoke about Smurf being a cheat I never repeated your implications so at you not cause you problems, or problems on the forum, but I see now you’re nothing but a little bitch who uses the little power you have to settle personal agendas you’re too weak to take on like a big boy would.
You consistently support and protect cheats. You change rules to let cheats take spots in tournaments they arent entitled to. You protect morons like Tim Russell and Paul Morrison who troll the pages.
Slow hand claps... Maybe if you keep flouting your pathetic power everyone will leave and you can stop playing the ‘oh we do so much and you all owe us for VOLUNTEERING’ card.
Pathetic.
I’m just about done with the game. Need a few weeks off - will see how I go after my move in September.
