Round 3 and a really enjoyable round with AV. Front 9 I putted extremely well. Hole 4 to 7 holed some really good huge breaking putts for birdie and par. Nice front 9 with 4 birdies. Back 9 not so good, too many mistakes but some great 16 to 20 footers for par. Nice bounce back from Art who played really well. Managed to grab Chip in Vandelay's birdie chip on 18.

I am afraid I donโt have time to finish this weeks rounds. Very busy week with lots of work, so got halfway on round one yesterday when I again got called. No time this day and probably not on saturday.
The course reminded me of Pinehurst no 2. Need to know the greens to play well. I have no complaints on the course or the setup.

Of course you don't have any complaints, you haven't played the tournament!

Here is my card for Round 3. Played pretty well on the whole, missed a few short putts for birdie, but some of those slopes around the cup can make you look a fool! Very enjoyable though in a strange way.

Round 4 and finally beat par at Shinnecock, played with Art again. Just a tip Art on these greens you can't race those downhill and sidehill putts. It's dead weight putting, a 30 footer downhiller you might have to putt it as a 3 to 5 foot putt. You really have to give a hell of a lot more for break also. I had a 4 foot birdie putt that I must of aimed 10 inches outside the hole. I putted extremely well this week but I love very fast greens because they feel like real PGA Tour speed to me. Cracking course some tough pins but I watched the fly by to check out the greens and where to land the ball, you just can't shoot for the pin every hole as the greens will really punish you. Not an unrealistic set up but one that requires strategy. You can't just speed golf this course as I mentioned before, but you definately need your A game to not leave yourself in trouble. This 95% gap wedge was spot on, hit a lot of 95% shots for birdie this week. This 9 iron approach was so close to dropping

This 9 iron approach was so close to dropping I did better speed golfing rounds 3 and 4! ๐๐ Including a really good -4 final round, that should've been a -5 (very silly mistake on 17th.) But I agree with everything you said and, to be fair, I was probably playing too fast in rounds 1 and 2 as well... I had a FIVE putt in round 3! Had a putt for eagle and ended up doubling it ๐๐ญ I was absolutely crap in my first two rounds. Just can not hook up 4 good rounds on USE, so frustrating.

My problem this week seems to be poor starts, I seem to rush a bit at the start with stupid mistakes. When I settle down I start to play well.

I am actually 6 over for the first 3 holes this week, also hit the wrong button and took an unplayable in the middle of the fairway on the first hole in round 2

My card for Round 4. Played a lot better than that score, played some cracking approach shots, only to be undone by some of those crazy slopes around the cup. I don't know how you are supposed to read them without a grid, you wouldn't believe the ball can turn that much on such a short putt, soured my enjoyment to be honest.

-22 is an outrageous score on this course, well played booze Thanks. Was quite stressful (in a good way), but managed to avoid any disasters. Only 3 bogeys I think. Like I mentioned my putter definitely bailed me out. I seem to putt much better when itโs a par saver then when itโs for birdie.

(Probably more than I think!) I was just REALLY struggling for birdies. Two putted SO many holes. Only 3 bogies is also outrageous. Well done on a great performance this week.
