I have a question-
If I jump into a match, through the society, and play my round-
1) Am I able to add a real life player, even if he is not in our society?
and
2) if so, would the society rules that are forced, like no grids, no scout cam, then force him to also play that way, for that round?
Reason: I have a very good friend that just got TGC2019 on the humble sale. He is very good, better than me, he just never switched from TCG2 until now. I would love to have him play along with me on one of my tournament rounds, to see first hand how we play, and wondered if that were possible, just by adding him when I play my round.

He would need to be a member to actually play in the tournament as this is a private society . Bring him over to the PC society. You could tell him what to do in your rounds.

gotcha, that makes sense.
He is reluctant to be in a structured thing, (like the feeling of 'having' to play and get rounds in by a deadline) because he has done it so much. He has played in racing sims, flight sims, and everything else, and has been enjoying not having the feeling of 'having' to play things. if that makes sense.
He's a really good golfer, and would do well here, but he has never played no loft boxes/no grids.
I'll see if I can get him to start playing me sometimes, and ease into hardcore, and maybe sometime will get him to come over and join.

polekatt/josia, I know you have been having a few problems with tempo. Question, does the game feel a bit laggy when this happens, I think I remember you saying you had a GTX 1070, is your ultrawide monitor 3440p?. Is it Gsync or VSync, are your framerates good when you have these problems, I tweaked the settings and got from low 40's to over 60's with no loss of graphic fidelity in my eyes. Keep your framerates in the 60's (using Steam's FPS counter) I know your tempo will improve. Try these settings, I used them for Chicago, never went below 60 FPS

yes, I have a 1070, with an ultrawide running at 3440p. And honestly, I love it, because I like beautiful graphics of the courses
I'll check on those settings for sure though. I can never figure out steams fps counter. In TGC2019, every time I've tried it, its always like 800 or something, which I know isn't correct. LOL

Ok watched the fps meter, I had actually forgot it was there, because I always run it. But I never went below 58 fps at all, stayed right around 60 when on the course.

Nothing wrong with your framerates then 👍

Nothing wrong with your framerates then 👍 I'm in the process of (potentially!) Putting together a PC build. I actually have a decent (but old) PC, but it had started the slowing/clogging process and then the HDMI port broke in the onboard graphics card. Anyway, Ryzen are bringing out an amazing budget CPU this month, that matches some MUCH higher end intel CPUs from 1-2 years ago. Anyway, I'm putting all the parts in my old dell case, which only has a 300w PSU, so I have to be careful what I put in it. I'm looking at going with a 3.8ghz (4.3 boost) quad core (8 threads) with 16gb ram (3200mhz) and putting my mate's SSD drive in there as well. Off topic really, but reason I bring it up here is coz you were talking about graphics cards. Best graphics card I can get (for power reasons) is looking like a gtx1650. Should be good enough? It's 4gb. The processor is absolutely good enough! I'm absolutely amazed at the performance bench marks for the price. Around 115-130 quid! I might be a PC player eventually!

Fantastic budget Ryzen CPU well spotted,I only read this review yesterday www.pcgamer.com/uk/amd-ryzen-3-3300x-review-benchmarks-performance/ , much better than my i5 4670 which is getting on a bit and bottlenecking my system in this game.Time for an CPU upgrade for me, which mean memory and a new motherboard also. . You'll love that SSD and how fast game loads and windows 10 runs. The GTX 1650 is a decent budget GPU, 4gb video memory is fine if you're playing games in 1080p. That system will run 1080p fine for this game.

Still worried about getting everything working with my 300w PSU. Ryzen are kicking butt these days. Their high end are matching or beating intel, and their lower end DESTROY them on value. If you know your stuff in putting computers together (I can just about, but have a very knowledgeable friend who I'm going to do mine with- we've had long back and forths choosing the parts) and have a big budget, I would build one around the Ryzen 3900x CPU. Unbelievable performance! This 3300x that's coming out kind of makes the 3600x a bit defunct, it's barely better than the 3330x. (I have an SSD on my laptop- it's a good machine, but crap graphics card means I can't use it for games- SSD is amazing, such an upgrade on HD.)

Just checked a 300W PSU will be absolutely fine for your set up, the GTX 1650 only draws 75W max and the CPU just 65W. Unless you are gonna hook up 20 hard drives

Unless you are gonna hook up 20 hard drives Yeah, I've been checking all the power outputs. I did see somewhere that the 3300x can be MAX 120w, which then starts getting me close to the limit. Let me know if you're serious about doing a build. I know you know your stuff, but I've done a LOT of research in the last week! Like been learning that going above 16gb ram is verging on pointless; especially with the Ryzen processor. The Ryzen is all about how many threads they have; that's their new technology. They don't even really bother with increasing the clock speed. (Although they do overclock higher than the lower models.) Going from 16gb to 32gb will provide a small boost, but the threads are what are doing all the work. It's much better value for money to spend that extra 70-80 quid on a superior GPU. Or just don't the spend the extra. Same with super fast ram. Almost pointless going above 3200mhz. And you have to have the knowledge of editing the timings on them manually to make the extra speed have an impact.
