Cameras in USE

I play this game as realistically as possible and don't do anything that I don't do in real life minus the elevated putter camera which I feel is compromise from not using pin marker. I have brought this up here rather than in the admin thread because let's have an open discussion about it, camera wise I normally switch to follow cam now if my putt is blocked, when watching opponents shots from bunkers rough etc I normally switch to left or right on the + pad to get an opponents view. I don't believe the camera should be an absolute rule apart from approach shots from distance.
Also I never change the camera to directly behind my opponent because it's not actually allowed in competition golf even for your caddie especially when putting.

I use the cameras the same way, except for the follow cam on opponents’ bunker and rough shots near the green.

It’s a great idea, it does mimic IRL, and I’m going to use it from now on (if I can remember). Thanks!

I also never stand directly behind an opponent and have set my default view of an opponent to be off to the side.

I use the follow cam around the greens, from greenside bunkers and extra long putts etc. in real life you would jump up out of the bunker to watch your shot finish. Don't use the follow cam from fairway bunkers though.

How do you use the putter cam on the tee?, sounds like a good idea..

You change to putter press Y and push forward on the right stick. Make sure you don't make a swing by mistake after you press Y again before changing back club, unless you are trying for the shortest drive of the week .

I use whatever is the default view set by the society.  Its a behind my golfer shot, even after the ball is hit.    

Only times I change it is as follows, and my reasoning-

-On the green, I get the worms eye view, and I go all the way around if I feel like it.   

I figure irl I could kneel down, and walk around the green and look at it, from all angles.

- I click the left joystick for a different view if my view is blocked on screen by bushes or grandstands

This is  just simply game mechanics.   I don't hover up and behind myself in real life, I can walk around and see first person.   So when I can't see my golfer due to a bush or grandstand 5 feet behind him, I figure its ok to get it to  a view where I can at least see the club swing.

- I click the left joystick occasionally to get a better view of the hole, ONLY to see where I am standing.  

This is again game mechanics.   If I am in real life and I go walking up the fairway, I'll know exactly where I am at on the hole.   In this game, with the way it just pops you in, and points you in a random direction sometimes,  sometimes I can't figure out for the life of me which direction I am facing.   The top down scorecard view does not show you which direction you are facing.  Just yesterday playing, on the back nine, the game turned my in a direction where if I would have hit the ball facing that way, I would have been hitting almost backwards.   But I didn't know it until I hit the different views and figured it out.    My personal belief is that if I'm that disoriented, even in real life, there would be a caddy, or buddy that you are playing with that would tell you, "ok, see that tree over there?  thats where the green is."

 - I click the A button after I putt, if my golfer's body is blocking what I can see.

Thanks to Hammersman for this one, I never realized you can do this.  But if you putt the ball in real life, your body don't mysteriously block your vision.   LOL

- I do click the A button if I'm in a greenside bunker that is below line of sight.  ONLY greenside bunkers.

Like Samterrence said, if you are that close, in a greenside bunker that is lower than the green, you would be able to, and probably would raise up enough to see your shot finish.   Beside the green where it is logical that you could do this in real life is the  only place I do this.

You guys know what I wish?  I wish that you could play this game first person, where you could look up and aim, then look straight  down at your ball during the swing, then only after the swing would it look up, just like real life.   BUT, the caveat would be, that when you are not swinging, you would still have a first person view, and you could click a button and walk around,  just like any other video game.    I'd love to be able to just walk my golfer around, first person, like in real life, walk up the hill or out of the bushes to get a better view, that you would normally see, then walk back to the ball and click to go into swinging stance.

You actually can on PC with free camera mode (actually a walking camera if you don't elevate your view and just move around with the left stick) but not available on the consoles unfortunately as it would be perfect for USE and more realistic than putter elevation cam. You can use it in your own practice rounds but not in USE tournaments.
