Played the 2nd round with Ray's Ghost, +6 1st 9 but made a comeback on the 2nd 9, I need Ray to implode to have a chance of catching him...

jeff and I played the 3rd live. Very tough conditions made this extremely difficult. I did manage to get a HIO par 3 hole #14. I will post the highlight in shots of the week.

First round a tale of my usual missed putts, but played really solid, and took advantage of the par 5s at the end to get myself in contention.
Second round might be one of my best ever USE rounds. Certainly my best ever recovery. Bogied 4 of the first 6 holes, and if it wasn't for a majestic HIO on the 2nd, I might have played myself out of things. Absolutely scorched the back 9, seven birdies (and a bogie,) missed a 2nd HIO by 6in, just missed an eagle on the last, -5 round to lead PS4 by a stroke after 2 rounds.
Let the HIO battle for shot of the week begin wade and josia! Who's was the longest, who had the worst wind, who's dropped in nice and slow??

jeff and I played round 1 live together at The Green Eagle Nord. What a great course! Birdies are hard to come by and pars are more than acceptable. I kept a 2 shot advantage over Jeff Spicoli throughout the front nine. We both caught fire on the back nine with a little birdie fest and we both finished at (-5) for R1. I especially like that I took advantage of all the par 5s on the back nine! And a clean back nine to boot!

Of course I went backwards in R3. Wade's ace on 14 was cool to watch; the ball just kept rolling, rolling, rolling, plunk. I tried to match his shot, but could only get within 7 feet. Whereupon I promptly missed the putt. Sir Putts-A-Lot strikes again! <sigh>

Btw, I played Jeff's ghost in round 1 and he had a recovery round like my 2nd round; didn't start great, kept plugging away, and made some really nice putts down the stretch.
Played colly's ghost in round 2. He's probably not happy with his round, because he's a top player, but he played some great golf too. Had it going down the back 9, but kept missing by that extra couple of yards to just make that putt harder.

Round 3 with chip in Vandelay and the Katt. Playing solid golf this week, feels good that the whole game is solid especially putting. Putted really well this round holed some great birdie putts and a nice big breaking 13 foot left to righter for a crucial par putt on 17, but so many close putts including an agonising lip out on 1 from 20 ft a 3 putt on 12 is the only bogie so far. AV started the back 9 on fire on the back 9 before a couple of bogies but a nice birdie on for a nice solid 70 in round 2.

Btw, does grey osprey frequent these boards?
I'll keep my comment respectful either way, but did people see his "asinine arcade golf course and setup" comment in the society?
I couldn't disagree more!! This is one of the most realistic and fun challenge courses we've played, in my opinion!
Absolutely zero manufactured difficulty, all about accuracy and planning, great hazard placement all over the course, testing but never ridiculous greens, great mixture of holes, times you need par, times you need to attack for birdies. Nowhere does it feel a grind, yet -5 is a really good score. That's exactly what you want from a tournament course.
Love how close together the pack is this week! Shows the course isn't too hard for the medium ability guys, but the high ability guys can't run away with it either! 👏
Anyway, rant over. You all know I love this course 😅 but I know I don't need to "stick up" for it, everyone seems to be enjoying it 👍

I’m enjoying the event for sure, last I checked on the Fictional event, SirWAde and I duelled out a draw so far far with identical scores but are yet to receive challengers!
Get your membership in now if you haven’t already, it’s only a two rounder and Saxondale is a fantastic USE course!
Let me know if you need approving

Had my own criticisms of last weeks greens and pin placements as they didn't feel realistic to me but I am totally mystified why he thinks this weeks course and conditions are arcade like, the exact opposite in my opinion.
