Came in cold after having not played the game for 11 or 12 days. Had a heap of slow tempo in Rd1, absolutely everywhere but mainly right. -1.
Enjoyed the soft conditions in Rd2 and sort of cleared up the slows and had -7 on front 9. 2 behind Will with 5 to play and 14 ft par save on 15, then 15 footer on 16 for bird, then knocked in a big 13ft downhiller on 18 to tie the lead....so far. -12 for the round and -13 total.
Off to Kinetic now after finally getting through the CC.

Totally agree, +4 this week is nothing to be ashamed of, it is actually not bad at all. The game is not easy and I really applaud great rounds but enjoy watching members improving their game even more. yeltzman your first goal is to break par over 2 rounds, pick some rivals close to you and see if you can beat them. Also I would like to put up a handicap leaderboard each week but tbh it takes time and the more members we have the more work, it is actually double the work. But if we did have one I think you'd be top this week with charles56, 2 very good performances. Check out your 18h average score in the society and just work on lowering it, like the real game the more you play the better your whole game gets. |

Well played in that second round Todd. For me Rd1 I could not buy a putt. Lots of burnt edges. Rd2 played well to post a -9 for the round.
Played both rounds except for that opening tee shot OG USE gameplay. Do I miss playing that way for S2? My opinion yes I do. But that is just me. Sometimes since everyone can use follow cam, should I? Playing USE against TST players for TST events do you miss out on a few reads/breaks on the greens compared to those that play that way? Personally I'd say for sure. With it on I've played speed rounds to check out new courses and sometimes without going through our green reading routine. You can get pretty darn close just watching the ball trickle out. With what Simon said, I'm sure alot of us who have played this way for years. It really is as sim golf as it can get. The percentage of players that play this way or not very high. Others here have stated before that they'd rather have a close knit group than opening it up (to follow cam) than have more players. Don't get me wrong it's great to have more Xbox players and other platforms join for S2. Things change whether it's good or bad. I get it. There's just something about USE gameplay that hits different than any other style of playing. Nonetheless enjoying the course selection S2 đź‘Ť. Almost halfway thru the season already!

I was moving along quite nicely after my first round coming in with a 65/-7 and looking forward to another good one in round 2, but could not buy a putt to score some more. Bit of a frust really.  Long game was ok but maybe the irons were not as sharp this time. Even though my putting was kinda stale i am overall very happy with my progress on the greens. My pacing has improved a lot, steering me away from the dreaded 3-putts!  I tuned down the fittingweight on my putter to 71 (it was 94) giving me more control and this seems to do the trick. On to Merion!! |

14 putts on the par3s in the 1st round and i started 2 under after 2.i can see no way how anybody can birdie that 3rd hole saying that i think it's my favourite US course just need the grids to play it.

LOL!!  I can imagine your frust Dave. Putting can be a nightmare on Merion and the biggest reason i think is putting from 'the wrong place'. I've been there.
